That's the level of my team, but I have three Pokemon weak to water type attacks.(I know, that's bad team planning, but the 2nd gen Pokemon don't appeal to me) Ho-oh, Typhlosion and Graveler.

I completely disagree. Fifth gen is best gen. Pokémon has only been getting better with each successive generation.

In terms of gameplay Fourth is actually better in my opinion. I haven't played Second but their remakes are my favourite games, tieing with Pokémon Emerald in my book.

Gen V has Rotation Battles. Gen IV doesn't. Gen V wins.

Plus, Gen V has infinite use TMs, and that's objectively one of the best changes that has ever been made to the series.

I must have had at least a dozen level 100s back in my Silver, including two Snorlaxes. That save was lost though.

More recently I'm not sure I've brought anything to level 100 naturally, since I discovered Emerald's item duplication glitch. My Haxorus in White is now at level 99 though.

Back when I was a kid and Gold was the only game I owned, I got my entire team up to level 100 by going back and forth between the Elite Four and Red several dozen times. As a result, I have perfectly memorized the interior of Mount Silver and can navigate it just fine without Flash. Hell, I could even draw up a map without a reference. :P

Well, when it comes to video games, I have a remarkably precise memory. For instance, after playing through most games only once, I can usually remember the exact locations of every item and/or secret and the solutions to every puzzle.

And yet I have trouble remembering my own age. Funny that. :/

I hated how the fossil pokemon in the fifth generation games were the same types as those in the first generation ones. I wish they had given each fossil pokemon its own type combination. Like one rock/flying, one rock/grass, one rock/steel, etc. The two rock/water ones from generation one can be sort of overlooked, I suppose.

But In every one since, they should have kept them as distinct. Like maybe an obvious rock/ground one, but also perhaps a rock/poison (like some ancient scorpion or something?) or maybe rock/ice, or hell I would eve take a rock/normal type.

But I did like Carracosta. I found him visually pleasing. And I wish the second generation games had their own fossils.

Honestly, I don't much care. Gen V already added far more unique type combinations than any other game, and I don't use fossil Pokémon, anyways. Once I used an Aerodactyl, but I haven't touched them since.

As someone whose been playing since Blue, I agree with olthar about successive generations. I love mons from each one. Each game has it's own quirks and improvements. What Gen V lacked in original gameplay (although they at least tried with rotation battles), I think it made up for it with the introduction of competitive, interesting pokemon and an engaging, original story (kudos to Game Freak for laying just a sliver of doubt concerning the moral implications of pokemon battling in kids. Sure, it got white washed in the end, but how many kids do you think in the beginning had the sudden, inescapable thought that what they were doing amounted to forcing thinking, feeling slaves to hurt each other. That maybe THEY were the bad guys. What kid's game does that nowadays?) more reminiscent of Gen I. Although I originally did not like the "power creep" of later games, it has lead to the formation of tiered competitive battling, breathing new life into pokemon who had been long forgotten. I hope in the 6th gen (or BW2) they bring back things like the berry mechanics (or at least make more stuff available in the Dream World) or further flesh out the "adventure" mechanics (Abyssal Ruins). Also LET POKES FOLLOW YOU. That little cosmetic tweak still tickles me in naughty places.

And the fuck-ton of pokemon means that there will be some people forget. This gives people who make original teams a little boost to compensate for the rampant cheese. It makes my Mandibuzz a cold blooded killer. No one suspects Mandibuzz :3

Game Freak does need to cut it out with the legendaries though >_> Pretty soon there will be more legendaries than not in new releases.

My biggest qualm is the names. They seem, for whatever reason, to largely have become somewhat uninspired.

The type combinations wouldn't have to be unique amongst all pokemon, just among fossil pokemon. And I don't use them that much either, I just like it for the variation. And I, being a who loves collecting and order, dislike "duplicates". I just considered them to be copies of the generation one fossil pokemon I guess. Although, a lot of generation five pokemon are similar in that way. I just target the fossils specifically.

And I overlook generation one because that's when things were just getting started. It seemed like in generations three and four they somewhat established a pattern of the fossils being different types from all the ones before.

But I guess it's just me being picky :p

Especially since it was perfected in Venosaur :p

I want a Water/Bug and Ghost/Grass.

And i don't get why you hate Cofagrigus. Sure, an evo of Yamask that was more Yamask-y would have been awesome, but I still love both designs. All of the Gen V ghosts (bar mustached jellyfish >_>) were amazing imo. Also add in things like Stoutland and the uniqueness of Reuniclus. Of course I guess that's balanced out by the fighting types, ice cream, trash, gears, and lolwat legendaries.
