Nat: Night's always in some bizarre state somewhere between "intoxicated enough to kill a hair metal lead singer" and "annoying Mormon missionary sober".
Swith: It's because you're so awesome. God himself refreshes the screen before he types just to see if Nightkill has written anything while he was off somewhere else.

That's right. GO AWAY BEATLES HATER!
Did you see me hating on The Beatles? No. I just said I don't care for their music. It's called an opinion. I bet you anything a lot of people who listen to The Beatles today just listen to them because it's the 'cool' thing to listen to music legends, like people do with popular music these days. I'm not saying you are one of those people, just I'm sure there are people like that out there. And I find listening to music because someone thinks it's cool to listen annoying. Listen to what you want, god damn it! Don't listen to what's popular just because it's supposedly cool. Those kinds of people I don't give a second thought to. Same with people who wear what's in style just because it's cool. I mean c'mon, make your own sense of style and wear what YOU want, not what's cool, because in my opinion that makes you a much more entertaining person to be around if you dress, listen to, and act how you WANT to act. Besides, most of the time I think people are cuter or their sense of style is cooler if it's something that isn't the typical "This is in style" crap.
But I do like a cover of a Beatles song, which wouldn't exist if The Beatles didn't exist, so that should count for something. I just find it better than the original Beatles song, and that's all. Even though it's sung by an 11-year old girl (Who, by the way, I think sounds really good for her age, and I expect great things from her and her families band in the future if they keep it up). Sometimes kids and teenagers can sing much better then these adult singers out there in professional, popular bands these days, and I'm glad YouTube helps them become noticed (These guys I'm talking about's cover of Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" (which everyone covers), got 70 million views). And I don't mean Justin Bieber. I don't understand why he became so huge because of YouTube. There are much more people, in my opinion, deserving of first real 'YouTube Superstar" then him. But oh well.
Edit: Besides, I was here way before you in the thread, so you don't have the right to tell me to go away

I'm not bashing your music tastes or anything, but there's got to be more you like then Lady Gaga out there. There is so much great and bad music out there, you just need to look for it. Don't just look at mainstream music, look at almost completely unknown stuff as well. Explore. Discover music you never though you'd enjoy. I'm sure there's some out there. I can even throw you a bunch of suggestions if you want.

Doesn't seem to be. I've never really cared about reggae, so I can't really help you. Like I said above, widen your horizons. I'm sure there's other things out there that you would like, and not just in the genre of reggae. And like I said above, I can start you off with a bunch of suggestions if you want.

I do listen to different genre's of music. I have experimented a lot. I do like Grime, Dubstep, Soca (kinda similar to reggae though), Dancehall (associated with reggae as well), Emmanuel Jal (African Rapper), and even Middle Eastern and Jewish music. In fact this is one of my favorite non-reggae/dancehall albums. So I do like other genres, some being completely different from reggae. But nothing else I listen to I like:
I find Pop to be shallow (not all of it, but most)
Hip-Hop has become too Popish these days,
I don't like the sound of rock or anything associated with it
R&B is boring to me.......
Also, I can't listen to music that is lacking in substance, for lack of a better term. The music I listen to needs to have a message, a meaningful one, to ponder and think about, or at least speak to the soul simply with its beautiful sound like this.
Hopefully you see my dilema. If you have any suggestions, please give them to me.

Yeah I could've been listening to a great album instead of something by Joy Division :v
with all due respects to Curtis, as I'm not in any way insinuating it was intentional, i am sort of leaning towards Joy Division's reverence and esteem being at least a little inflated by the leader of the band offing himself

Seriously, Unknown Pleasures is a masterpiece. Closer was a little bit over the place, but still a great album. You've been doing Post-Punk wrong and it sounds like you haven't dug very deep if you don't know This Heat.
Anyway, any Post-Punk list that leaves out Jesus and Mary Chain is wrong.
Jesus and Mary Chain is more noisepopish/shoegaze, no? If we're considering them post-punk than they should be on the list however.

I don't really know what counts as grime, but I like some Dubstep. A lot of it is fairly boring though, I've decided. And I may need to actually check out that band you posted. It sounded interesting.
I find most pop music boring as well. Kimbra is pop, but she's actually interesting. Interesting as a person from what I've seen (doing strange dances and such. Makes her unique), and despite the fact I'm not sure I really care for her music, it's sort of cool. It's like a mixture of modern and old pop music, so it's different and somewhat interesting.
Now for me, the chances of you hearing me listening to a hip-hop or rap artist is VERY unlikely, because I mostly can't stand rap. But again, there's still some I like. Like this, though I mainly think the guy who sings at the start sounds totally awesome.
Rock is kinda subjective for me. I love the genre of post-rock, but most of the rock I hear on the radio I find extremely annoying. Like this shitty rock my dad and I like to refer to as 'butt-rock', which usually has disgusting songs about strippers or are just generally sexist, or sound extremely boring and generic.
R&B never entertained me...pretty much all R&B artists bored me. I'm sure there's something out there I like, but from now on I don't think I've found R&B that I like
And I completely agree with you on the substance thing. This is why generic music and Dubstep bore me, because it has no substance. Nothing going for it, usually not lyrically OR musically. It needs something to it to make it more worth something, more original. I don't really know how to put it.
I don't know what your stance on metal is (I think most metal sucks, by the way), but I dig this Afghan metal band, and what you posted (despite the fact it's not metal) reminded me of.
Dubstep, or music that has Dubstep aspects incorporated into it:
Excision. To me, this Dubstep song just has more substance to it then your typical Dubstep. When it kicks in just sounds cooler then most Dubstep.
Noisia. This one has some deeeep bass.
Noisia (16-bit remix. Honestly I think this is cooler then the original.
Nero
Digitalism
A lot of these might not actually be entirely Dubstep, but eh, there you go. There's a start. If you want more, ask.
I also don't know what your opinion on mellow music is. Some people can't stand mellow music, and I've actually had my aunts say I need to listen to 'happier' music when I listen to anything slightly on the depressing side. I bet you anything if I told them to listen to more depressing music, they wouldn't, and I'd just respond with "Then why should I listen to happier music?". But anyway, that's not important. An example of post-rock, which has a huge range to it and is quite different then your straightforward rock, and that's also my favorite band and an example of, in my opinion, beautiful mellow music. Again, if you want more of these guys or post-rock in general, I got plenty to throw around.
Random music in general:
Of Monsters and Men
Alex Clare. This song actually pleasantly surprised me on the radio with a Dubstep part in it. It was different and interesting. It took me a few listens to like the song though.
The Album Leaf.
Vazquez Sounds. A cover of a Beatles song sung by an 11-year old girl, and played by her brothers, 13 and 15. The funny thing is, I've never been a fan of The Beatles, and I really dig this cover of their song, much more then the original. Her voice is really good for her age.
Health. Lovely dark video game music. As soon as I heard this song on a trailer, I was dieing for the full version, the same way I'm dieing for the dark version of the "Drunken Sailor" song on the gameplay trailer for Dishonored.
Silversun Pickups. I don't like all of this bands songs, but they have some songs I really dig. This might be kind of rock-like, but it's supposedly more 'shoegaze'.
Anyway, there's a good start. Go ahead and ask for more of anything I posted to you at all. I'm all up for sending you more. Sharing music with others is one of my favorite 'hobbies'.
. If your interested in Grime, check out Chipmunk and Wiley. It's a bit of an odd genre, but interesting none the less.
