I always feel nerdy listening to Rush's prog 2 da max albums.

It's a great feeling somehow.

What's with the lack of activity here. Probably should say something music related.

Uhhh...nah.

It's way too vague a topic. I mean it's everything composed in the last few thousand years.

So what are the defining features of punk anyway.

I was actually gonna say something like "3/4 time signature" or something plucked out of music theory, but I didn't really want to turn this into a discussion about music theory. Even if the thread is titled "General Music Discussion."

In response to your question... uhhh... fast tempos centered around distorted but not heavy guitars?

I haven't found a whole lot of music to add lately?

Actually, I just added like, 3 playlists of music today. I haven't really listened to enough of it yet though.

Heck, I'll throw some random stuff in:
Might post some stuff I posted before that I forgot I posted or something too, and I kinda am running out of stuff to discuss at the moment anyway.
Ane Brun and Jose Gonzalez-Worship. Great combination. My mom showed me this.
Vazquez Sounds-Let It Be. So, a cover of a Beatles song, sung by an 11-year old girl, and played by a 13 and 15 year old, that I like quite a lot more then the original. Am I going to burn in a fiery hell for not caring about The Beatles music and liking a version sung by someone who hasn't even hit teenaged years yet?
Alex Clare-Too Close. It took me a few listens of this song on the radio to know if I liked it, but it grew on me quite a lot. I like half liked it and half didn't when I first heard it, but I definitely like it now. The "Dubstep" part kinda cut me off guard though, in a good way.
The Last Days-The Time Will Never Come Back. Some random Post-Rock band I ran across while searching through the 'good' section of YouTube. I dig this song.

I got some other post-rock bands I ran across, but this is good for now.

Calm your rampaging indecision with the undeniably jazzy and funky sounds of the late 70s (this is not a trick or ruse).

Rush's new album just came out, and it's making me one happy fanboy. It's pretty much Vapor Trails: The Concept Album, and I think it's easily their best record in the last twenty years. If you liked their sound on the last two albums, you'll enjoy it. If you only like their proggy stuff, you won't. And if you hate Rush, it isn't going to change your mind.

I don't hate or like Rush....so who knows what my opinion would be. Though, I haven't listened to much of them as is.

It's from the infamous album 20 Jazz Funk Greats, an early industrial album cleverly disguised as a compilation of jazz funk. I listened to it pretty recently and found it very interesting. That was my favorite track.

I've heard D.o.A., it's not my type of music but it wasn't bad.

Yeah but that applies for a lot of just rock music so there must be more ot it than that.

See people this is why genres are a terrible idea.

That's actually really good.
