I had a guy (A part of that krautrock scene, apparently) where I had 160 songs of theirs on Spotify...and it totaled like 40 hours. And I only had 4 parts of a 13 part series of albums...that each were a triple album.

Needless to say, I never got around to truly listening to him.

I suspect Tangerine Dream is actually an assembly-line style music factory, employing no less than sixty musicians at any given time. To cover their tracks, they have a hired touring "band" to actually go out and play shows.

Went through that 1001 list after removing those 47 albums I've already heard, and marked few albums which I want to listen to before the rest, ended up with 108 albums. The rest 846 albums I go through later... a lot later...

Been listening to Sun Kil Moon. Pretty good indie folk/indie rock. Getting quite a lot of albums rated an 8 actually. Gonna have to prioritize what I actually want to own of said albums that are ending up being rated an 8...

. As much as I am a movie listener, a list like that would be...too much for me. I'd have too much of an itching to go through other stuff.

I've made a list of all my favourite albums since 1975 (I haven't got any from 1974, so it's 1975 onwards)

Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment, but digging into discographies is fun for me.

It is for me, too, I just prioritized on the artists that were easier to plow through.

I'm the guy who has a record of listening through 32 EP's in one day, and on another day a few days later, 17 LP's. All one's I've never heard before until then. I'm always digging for new music of all types.

I dunno I just want to share it I'm very happy with it

Stealing the idea and doing my version of the list. My list starts earlier though, from 1957. From '64 onwards I have something from every single year, missing only years '60, '61, '62 and '63.

Out of my top10 albums 2 aren't on the list because they are just tiny bit worse than the best album of their years (2000: Venom's Resurrection is 5th while Impaled Nazarene's Nihil is 1st. 2004: Torsofuck's Erotic Diarrhea Fantasy is 8th while Motörhead's Inferno is 7th)

Top 5 most albums of the year bands: Chuck Berry 5, Impaled Nazarene 4, Jimi Hendrix 3, Motörhead 3, Venom 3
Chuck Berry's amount can be explained by the fact that 4 of them are the only albums of their years.

Erm...maybe early Muse (Origin of Symmetry, mostly), or the aforementioned Porcupine Tree.

Yeah, those both might work. I always thought of Porcupine Tree as progressive rock/progressive metal, but they COULD be sort of a mix.

I want to learn how to play pedal steel. But it's such a specialized and unique instrument that it's maddeningly difficult just to find an instrument, much less an instructor. If only I lived in Nashville.

You hear pedal steel in so many places; from Led Zeppelin to neo-folk (and country, of course). You'd think there'd be somebody in this metropolis willing and able to teach me.
