I like what I like. THAT OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL.

I haven't been huge on new rock since the Nineties, when Nirvana and grunge saved music.

Jeez, do you get all your ideas about music from Rolling Stone? There was a preponderance of underground rock in the 80s, including grunge, and only anything to "save" music from if you're ignoring everything outside the top 40.

Also, how much post-90s rock are you aware of?

I know there was indeed an underground music scene way back thirty years ago- some really great punk spawned from it. When I say saved music, I mean that Cobain (temporarily?) put something back into (more) popular music that it had sorely been missing: heart. Grunge is a huge reason why so many kids that grew up in the Nineties know there's something more than playlisted bullshit. Popular music ain't always the best (take the aforementioned Eighties), but I expected all those great Nineties sounds to inspire something better than (shit) autotune and (overrated, not awful) dubstep.

If we speak of "pure" 2000 and onwards bands, a good deal of popular ones (a couple of gems), fewer underground/indie/whatever groups by word of mouth(eh, again, a couple of gems). I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this newfangled music, admittedly.

How is it?

I thought it was wonderful. I'm not really familiar with her other material though.

I recommend Hounds of Love and The Dreaming.

And perhaps The Kick Inside, my personal favourite.

I can't really say that I have 5 favorite bands. It's very hard for me to choose out of all the music I listen to. :(

I could list 5 favorite bands in general, but that wouldn't mean much like listening 5 favorite bands does for other posters in this thread. Here are five bands I particularly enjoy anyway:

1. Garbage.
2. In Extremo.
3. Oomph.
4. Motorhead.
5. Epica.

I could go on, and on, and on. I'm pretty open to any form of music as long as it's interesting and got the it factor - for lack of a better term - to it. If anyone has recommendations - like I said in a similar thread - please do not hesitate to tell me about them, regardless of genre. Preferably via telegram so I can easily keep them handy. I'd love to add more music to my already bloated playlist. :D

we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.

Since I apparently hate all the music I used to listen to, less than two weeks ago, I need a new list.
In no real order, cause that changes faster than my taste in music.
Rise Against
Breaking Benjamin
The Offspring
Blood on the Dance Floor
Skillet (Included because I still kind of like it, and I need five.)
Nationstates Ninja
Second to Reploid Productions...
Everyone should watch this excellent show, and the movie Serenity.
