Have we established how the judges will be evaluating the entries?

Tagged, will post as soon as I can get into the mood for writing and finish my story. Then I shall post it here. Pretty obvious, but there you go.

I think we should evaluate every category that needs to be graded, assign a number of points based on significance in relation to the others, then add them up to your total score, if they make a strange number i'll have to increase them proportionally until they don't.

Shouldn't plot be worth 15? First off, because plot is just as important as characters. Secondly, to make it an even 50.

We can add more, hmmm

Characters - 15 x5
Creativity/Originality - 10 x5
Setting - 10 x5
Plot - 15 x5
Grammar/Presentation - 10 x5

There, switched the scores from Creativity and plot, multiplied across by 5, we now have a nice round three hundred . . . .three hundred?

15+15 = 30

10 + 10 = 20

30 + 20 = 50

well, at least one more, we'll let the other judges see if they can add some, but that seems good.

But that makes it 60. =(

If we're going to go over 50, might as well hit 100.

Bah.

Not the point. Plot is just as important, non?

Switch plot and creativity scores, then. "Good artists copy, great artists steal."

Though, for simplicities sake, could we not just lower the 300 to 30?

How about:

Characters - 10

Grammar - 5
Style - 5

Or

Characters - 25

That one's good. I just thought it would increase the accuracy to expand the point scale.
