Agreed. It really sucks how most of humanity resorts to violence to settle disagreements. Although I will go with Meryuma on the fact that it is a bit sappy, the world described in that song is my utopia. But even if people were to listen to it, the peace would only be temporary. The Fallout games (not sure if you've heard of them) usually start out with one line- War. War never changes. This basically describes everything on Earth nowadays. Even if Earth were to unite in a utopia, it would only take one little spark to set the world ablaze.

Just because it's sappy doesn't mean it's bad. :)

It is impossible to define one single song as the best in the history of Earth.
Insane and loving every second of it.

definitely.
we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.

if you just want most popular, which isn't really indicative of quality, it's probably whatever pop song is popular right now

This is true, but seeing as this song has been treated as gold since 1981, I'd say a greater majority love this song than some pop song getting it's fifteen minutes of fame for sounding like trash.

expanding markets for the western media to sell it's churned out brand of shit to mean more and more people are going to be getting interested in the baser foundations of music, ie pop.

and i dunno if they're gonna rerelease a load of old pop songs as singles.
