So, I just ordered my first third-party Transformers figures.

I'll be honest, I dislike a lot of what third-parties do these days. I have no interest in faux-Masterpiece figures with fiddly and complex transformations that cost waaaay too much, in my opinion.

However - there is one thing I really have always loved when it comes to Transformers - small Transformers. As a kid, most Transformers I owned were Minicons, I mean yeah, I had some larger figures, but I probably had like six or seven larger figures and probably a good thirty minicons and other small figures as a kid.

Basically what I'm trying to say is - I just ordered Iron Factory's Legends-sized not-Windblade and not-Arcee and I am so looking forward to getting them because 1) Small Transformers are love and 2) I don't read the comics, but they're both just so cute.

Yes, I've been hearing a lot of good things about Tom and Jerry, which is a 3rd party take on Chromedome and Weirdwolf who are at about legends scale but with a working headmaster gimmick..... I believe they are by Unique Toys.

I'll probably get Iron Factory's not-Scorponok when it rolls around, because, hey, I like the Marvel comics. And I also need him because my collection setup is pretty much a Decepticon civil war.

Yeah, Lordscorpion looks really nice. Although for some reason, the antenna on the sides of the head look really long to me, but they're not.

I managed to find Brainstorm. The sticker-style markings are a really nice touch.

It's been a while since I last visited this thread. Look at all the brightly coloured Transformers! It might be interesting to copy those colour schemes on a few of my BattleMech miniatures.

Only one I'm still missing is Chromedome. I'm hoping I find him soon. I have Hot Rod and Triggerhappy in my BBTS Pile of Loot right now and I think it'd be hilarious if I get those two before I find a Chromedome.

Also, what do you guys think of MP-36 Megatron?

I'm super hyped. Can't wait to get him and the Starscream reissue next year.

He's nice but horrifically overpriced imo. Same with Thrust, really.

Well he's only really overpriced if you buy him from US-based retailers, if you import him from Japan he's about the same price as MP-10. The Japanese price tag of $150-$170 depending on the retailer seems pretty reasonable to me given the accessory count and the fact that he's got electronics, and the Yen-to-USD exchange rate is starting to get better too.

Yeah, but then there's the shipping and the fact that if customs finds him without a barrel plug you're SOL.

According to the estimates Nippon Yassan provides EMS shipping for Megatron will be like $40, so yeah... Still will be cheaper than buying domestic. And the figure's probably going to be packaged in robot mode so customs amd the plug shouldn't really be an issue.

I've been a fan since it premiered in 84, and I've been collecting now for about 14 years.... I do not think I could peg one specific "favorite mold". I did not collect any unicron trilogy stuff, or anything from RID 1.0, Beast Wars/Machines or Animated. My collection is all G1, G2, Alternator/Binaltech, Prime, Movieverse, Masterpiece and CHUG line.

Some top ones on my list (are all MPs as well) would be, MP-13(B)Soundwave and Soundblaster, MP-11 Starscream, and MP-10 Optimus Prime.

I love MPs..... And on that note, My MP-33 Inferno is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

The mold is great though.

1. He looks like robocop

2. He's got a big gun that shoots a missile, and it deploys automatically in vehicle mode. Despite that it also discretely hides in vehicle mode when you're not using it.

3. As if having a giant gun wasn't enough he has a gun hand. You'll never be unarmed with a gun hand.

4. He shoots a disc out of his chest.

5. RED UH-LERT WOO WOO WOO WOO

So Takara announced a Godbomber for their Super Ginrai.

You know what that means?

(It means Takara stays winning)

Eh... It looks ok, but that's about it. It looks ok. I kinda feel like for everything their Ginrai and Godbomber do right, they also do one or two things wrong.

Also who are you voting for Prime and why is it Star Saber?

So I picked up my first Titans Return figure at TRU today. Triggerhappy to be exact.

He is good, he is damn good. Like I'm not saying that he's perfect or that he's suddenly shot up to being my favorite figure EVERRRR, but he perfectly encapsulates what I think makes a good Transformers figure.

He's got a great robot mode with no extraneous kibble and really good articulation, his transformation is fun and enjoyable, and his alt mode looks nice and doesn't have any obvious robot bits.

He's just an all-around great figure.
