I'm unfortunately back to the point of not having enough display cabinets to keep everything on display, again.

Hasbro TF Combiner Wars Deluxe class Groove has gone up for preorders on several online stores, including capturedprey.com and bigbadtoystore.com if anyone is interested for May Mayhem.

A classic case of #firstworldproblems, but undoubtedly it is a sweet sorrow.

Yes, it is a nice problem to have. I'm going to ditch one of the AoE displays soon and move things around because I need space for more MP's.... And Titan Fort Max will just have to join Devy on the top when I get him.

Maketoys take on a MP scale Inferno figure. This edition was sold from the Maketoys shop and all proceeds from the sale sans shipping is donated to the Red Cross for Fort McMurray relief.

Figure is hefty, appreciable amount of dicast. Pretty faithful in design to the Original toy mold.

Five robots forming an even larger robot, now that's a staple of Japanese animation!

I was lucky enough to secure myself a Groove off of Amazon this morning for $17. It should arrive sometime next week, since it doesn't come in stock until Sunday.

Transformers Titans Return Fortress Maximus...

Image

Quite a nice figure.... and big. He is slightly taller in head height as Metroplex, so he takes the title back as tallest transformer (Metroplex is still "higher" but only in so dar as his shoulder cannons that stuck up are taller.... in actual head-height, FortMax is about 1/2" taller.)

Image
FortMax with Titan Class Devastator

Image
Cerebros. They really did a good job capturing the Rebirth style of Cerebros.

Got the whole run of Wave 1 deluxe TR's too... they are 4 for 4 on that wave at capturing the G1 aesthetic for me. Also bought some of the single pack TR heads, got Brawn, Apeface, Terri-Bull, Loudmouth and Nightbeat.

Right now from TR I have Powermaster Optimus, Blaster, Hardhead, Scourge, Rewind, Wheelie, and Titanmaster Apeface. Hardhead's one of the best Deluxes I've ever laid my hands on.

Also, what do you guys think of the new reveals from Cybertron Con last night? Hot Rod is a must-have for me, and Sixshot is very impressive. Voyager Optimus looks a lot better than I thought he would, but I'm not sure if I actually want the mold as Optimus. I might wait for the inevitable Octane retool. Kickback looks great, and now I'm actually gonna go back and get Bombshell and Shrapnel.

TR Sixshot will be mine dammit.

That being said, I honestly feel that Takara is basically kicking Hasbro's butt when it comes to the TR figures, although maybe that's my bias towards the Japanese side of things post-season 3, but the Japanese versions of Chromedome and buds look so much better than the Hasbro versions and I just adore that the Japanese Fort Max has the correct colorscheme and head for Fortress, instead of the shitty Rebirth Cerebros head.

God I hated The Rebirth.

Also Takara's Super Ginrai. Unf.

To each their own. I far prefer Hasbro Blurr.

The Takara TR figures are nice looking, but not that much better than the Hasbro versions (save for like, Blurr), which is a testament to how much Hasbro's upped their game with TR. And with the prices that they're at, to me at least the Takara versions aren't different enough to justify their rather steep cost. As for Takara Super Ginrai, I'm not a fan of those feet. I'll wait and see what they come up with for Godbomber, but for now Hasbro Powermaster Optimus Prime is good enough for me.

I also picked up Galvatron last weekend. Love him, love him, love him. The flip-up crown doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

Yes, to each their own. I like the Cerebros head for Fort Max because the Rebirth is nostalgic for me. I didn't get to see teh Japanese headmasters till much later into adulthood, so it does not carry that same feel to me that the Rebirth brings...... I had all the autobot and decepticon headmasters from G1 and the Hasbro versions represent updates to those toys than the Takara.... so I will be primarily collecting the Hasbro Titans Return figures and then may get some of the core Takara Legends figures.

Here are my Titans Return Deluxe Wave 1 figures:
Blurr:

Scourge:

Skullsmasher:

Hardhead:

On a side note, we are getting some nice 3rd Party Trailerbreakers (and Hoists)

I am personally leaning towards the Masterminds Creation Occular max ones for these.... They are about equal on alt mode look, but I feel Mastermind edged over Badcube on the bot mode look for the figures

Show off me Titans Return Deluxe Figures, starting with Wave 1.

Start off with Scourge and Fracas:
Image
Image
Image

Very nice homage to his G1 look. Some issues, head is wobble on this figure compared to the west of the wave... but otherwise a nice figure.

Next Blurr and Hyperfire:
Image
Image
Image

Onve agan, a nice solid figure. No loose joints or any other QC issues on mine. Carmode really hearkens back to the G1.

Now to the Traditional Headmaster types....
Skullsmasher and Grax:
Image
Image
Image

Really nice update to the G1 look. Some issues with QC and design. QC wise loose hip joints..... I fixed with some clear nail polish..... Design wise he needs heels, he likes to tip back.

Hardhead and Furos:
Image
Image
Image

Hardhead was the one G1 autobot headmaster I did not get as a kid. Overall nice figure, no QC issues, and design wise well built.

And now the Titans Return Deluxe Wave 2 figures....

Chromedome and Stylor:
Image
Image
Image

Really nice update to the G1 look of the figure. Stylor could stand for some paint, but overall really nice. No QC issues on mine.

Highbrow and Xort:
Image
Image
Image

He is a retool of Scourge from wave 1.... as such he has the same floppy head issue as Scourge.

Mindwipe and Vorath:
Image
Image
Note: I have him slightly mistransformed from the official here, his legs are supposed to slot into his lower wings, but he becomes a bit less possable in bat mode when you do that.... so it's up to you if you like it or not.
Image

Wolfwire and Monxo:
Image
Image
Image

Really nice update on the G1 toy. Great figure. Interestingly enought, too.. his chest panel can swing out, but it's not in any instructions or served any purpose in transformation. I am guessing that may come into play in some retool down the line.

Newest figure in my collection, DX9 D09 Supreme Leader Mightron, 3rd Party company DX9's take on a Masterpiece style Megatron.

Image

Image

The figure is lovely.... will be better once I remove the Orange plug, which I am working on (want to be careful not to damage anything in the process).
Face sculpt is lovely... Pistol mode is very clean. This is a nice take on a Masterpiece Megatron.

EDIT:
I did get the plug out, and also found an undocumented transformation joint in the figure in the foot:
Image
Image
This is what the instructions have the feet like in transformation.

However there is a rotation joint within the foot, the foot has an outer part and an inner part, and the inner can rotate 180 degrees
Here you can see the pin midway between the toe and ankle where the rotation is:
Image
And the foot can spin:
Image
Image
So the toy then faces the ankle

The feet now look like this:
Image

Which makes for an even slicker look to the base of the handle in gun mode

Getting a lot of third party figures, well a lot for me at least, over the next few months.... October and November I am getting Mastermind Creations take on a Masterpiece Trailbreaker and Hoist..... in November along with Hoist the official Masterpiece Inferno is comming out as well. Somewhere in there, may have some more Titans Returns to get as well. Looking forward to the Leader Sixshot and the Deluxe Twinferno (aka Doublecross). And hope we hear somethings soon about them repainting the Voyager Megatron they showed off as Blitzwing.
