I think Skywarp is my favorite, because teleportation. Although, I must admit, I'm fond of Thundercracker's color scheme.

Selects Bug Bite

And he uses the Cliffjumper version of the mold and not the Bumblebee one, despite the original Bug Bite toy in Gobots also turning into a Beetle.

Maybe it's due to licensing issues. It's known that, for years, Volkswagen wouldn't grant Hasbro a license because 'Transformers are war toys and don't match the Volkswagen lifestyle' (*cough*your company founded by the actual fucking nazis*cough*) but now they do, so I wouldn't be surprised if they've changed their license restrictions to 'no villain toys'.

I only want Thrust because he's the only G1 Seeker I actually care about.

Which might seem random since I literally didn't grow up with G1, but when I was like 5,6 years old, my uncle sent me his old G1 Thrust (which admittedly was missing literally every single one of his parts except his wings and landing gear), so he's kinda special to me because of that.

I can understand that. I have multiple iterations of Starscream as he was the first Transformer I got as a kid in Christmas 1984, same with Sideswipe, as I also got him that year as well. So I tend to collect about every single iteration of those two characters, even when I don't collect the rest of the line they are in.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I have nostalgia for the first figures I ever got, but none of them have ever gotten new toys.

IDK if this has been mentioned here, but they're doing a Selects G2 Megatron redeco from the ER mold and, I don't think it really works.

Like yeah, he turns into a tank like G2 did and that's passable (although the lack of BIG STICK and EAT THIS AUTOBOTS on his turret is a downer), but the robot mode is G1 Megatron, so it doesn't really work as a G2 one. Like G2 Megs needs to have the whole 'upper torso formed from the front part of the tank with the shoulder mounted cannon' for it to actually feel like what it's supposed to be.

In (slightly?) cooler Selects news, we're also getting a Sandstorm. And I don't mean the G1 Triple Changer or the Operation Combination redeco of Brawl.

No, I mean the unreleased redeco of Ramjet from Generation 2 Sandstorm. I mean, IDK I feel this works much better considering that you know, he was literally designed to be a redeco of Ramjet from the start. Although I do think they either should've used the non-conehead head sculpt to distinguish him from Ramjet (besides the deco) or painted the shark face on the faux nosecone conehead to match with his real nosecone.

G2 Blackout from Starscream when?

The new G2 Megs is kind of disapointing. He lacks the unsubtle giant shoulder cannon. Sandstorm is cool though.

We already have in-hand images of a WFC: Kingdom toy and yet I guarantee you that 99% of Transformers fans haven't even seen Earthrise wave 2 yet.

What the fuck lmao, it's like they're going on with this as if there isn't a damn global pandemic disrupting everything.

Personally I’ve never been much interested in Beastformers, so Kingdom might be my catch up year. Meanwhile we get something besides pure G1, and even if it’s a line I’m not interested in, I always appreciate changes to the Generations formula.

Deadass though, I feel really bad for the people who buy in to the Masterpieces.

Cuz I mean between the WFC trilogy and the Studio Series lines, it's like 'why bother with MP?' at this point, the mainline stuff is pretty much doing the same shit as the MP line but for significantly cheaper costs, sometimes looking better (IMO), and without any of the über-complex transformations because Takara cares more about making Sunbow vehicle mode go to Sunbow robot mode than having a fun and satisfying transformation with the Masterpieces anymore.

Finally back to collecting. I’ve been holding off since the start of this whole quarantine whatnot. I’m now the proud owner of the Earthrise seeker trio along with some of the Cyberverse deluxes.

Now I go back to wanting.

I agree. I wish they made a few more of the Cyberverse deluxes. Starscream, Soundwave, Windblade (I mean, she’s the deuteragonist!) and maybe Cheetor or Wheeljack would have rounded out the main characters. I also wouldn’t have minded more deluxes of the season 3 OCs, since they have fairly original designs.

And I really wanted a Drift deluxe figure. He could have worked as a G1 CHUG Drift, since the only other figure is still the pricey one from the original Generations.

Hasbro is reissuing the never-released-in-the-US* Transformers Prime Voyager Breakdown and Jet Vehicon toys, complete with stickers like the original Takara releases and the model kit Arms Micron toys.

*I am well aware that both of these molds did get released in two different BotCons, but they never got a general release as their original characters.

Imagine paying $575 USD for a shellforming Unicron toy with tons of kibble...

If TPMs can come up with adequate planet mode designs without sacrificing the robot mode, why can't Hasbro?

I can’t believe how quickly he sold out the first time, and then again on Hasbro Pulse yesterday.

Yeah. Scalpers got him pretty damn fast. Here’s hoping Target can still ship him and isn’t overestimating its own supply situation.

Ectotron and Maverick weren’t nearly this bad.

Is the Maverick toy worth picking up? Looks like a better Movieverse Seeker than the actual Movieverse Seekers with their ridiculous Dorito-shaped bodies

A lot of people complained about him, mainly because of his admittedly ugly plastic color. Still, I like that he’s a Tomcat and that he’s Top Gun related. Plus he comes with a volleyball. He’s also not in high demand like Gigawatt apparently is.
