Eh, Stare Master was alright, and that was Fluttershy/CMC. I don't care for any of the Rarity-centric episodes, but I imagine there's a segment of the target audience that eats them up.

Dog and Pony Show actually bothers me - even in a show about talking, brightly-colored ponies, it strained credulity that the Diamond Dogs wouldn't have attempted to shut Rarity up using violence. I would have, if I'd been the enslaving type.

AIEE!!
Not really a big shipper here. I mean, I'm generally cool with any ship if it's executed well and seems believable. With a preference for pairings that don't contradict established canon. Of course, in FiM, there's not really any established ships, so things are pretty wide open for the fandom to play around with pairings.

Pinkie has a big fear of rejection and ridicule, as suggested in Party of One and Return of Harmony. If that's not a reason not to ask out your crush, I dunno what is.
Looks like I gave up on NS too soon - I never thought this thread would be reopened.

So, topic for discussion: Do the Alicorns, Luna & Celestia, have a romantic life?
Both Alicorns are either immortal or near immortal. So that means that they can't really ship with anyone, because in the vastness of their lifespan, their ships will last as long as a blink of an eye. I'd imagine Luna and Celestia had a ship early on in their lives, when they were young mares, but soon discover why it's a bad idea for Alicorns to date other ponies with significantly shorter lifespan.
Think about it this way, Let's say that you're virtually ageless, while those who you love and care for will grow old and die off, you will remain the same. Now, keep doing that over and over after centuries and Milena. You fall in love with somebody, you raise a family with them, then they start to grow old and soon the children and grandchildren and so on also start dying off.
Now, realistically, how many of y'all can actually do that over and over and over again, knowing that the outcome is never going to change? I'm talking about TRUE love here, I'm talking about giving every fiber of your being to another person, investing time, emotions, strength, EVERYTHING into this relationship, and into the family that y'all create, only to realize that it'll ultimately end up with them dying, and you remaining behind as an ageless entity.
Of course, this isn't the only thing to consider. You also have to consider that the Alicorns are basically gods, and yes while most religious texts when it comes to gods interacting with mortals do have them perform the act of sex. How many times do you actually see a god engaged in a long term/marriage with a mortal? There's just too much difference between the mortal ponies and the Alicorns for the relationship to work. It'd be like a Christian trying to date Yahweh.
I think the sisters may have done it once or twice, but they don't do it anymore.

It makes me wonder if they are the only alicorns in existence. After all, how did they come to be?
