"ambient black metal" being a retarded buzzword spouted by dilettantes and with no discernible meeting I post an ambient album by a black metal artist in the hopes of getting some elaboration.

Spouter of buzzword gets mad, over my suggestion, poorly words themselves and implies my assertion is correct.

After being ridiculed for this they make a post so smug it churns the stomach to read and parrot childish while still not providing elaboration.

Are you incapable of communication with humans? Do you suffer from social issues? I can't be expected to debate with someone who can't word themselves probably.

Also bonus post script, your signature reeks of 12 year old forum circle jerker, you're not in any position to be calling anyone childish.

http://www.metal-archives.com/search?searchString=ambient+black&type=band_genre

So an actual genre is a buzzword used only by dilettantes? What else do you want "ambient black metal" to be called? It's black metal that is ambient. Do tell what else the genre is supposed to be called, so the name of the genre is no longer a "retarded buzzword" in your opinion.

Charmicarmicat wrote:Spouter of buzzword gets mad, over my suggestion, poorly words themselves and implies my assertion is correct.

I see you also claim to know my own emotions. You've taken the time to write such a detailed and exquisite response, so I strongly doubt I poorly worded myself.

You mentioned an ambient album no one brought up, expecting it to be proof that "ambient black metal" isn't black metal. That backfired on you. If that's implying your assertion is correct... I'm truly puzzled as to how you came to the conclusion that being wrong implies you're right.

Charmicarmicat wrote:Are you incapable of communication with humans?

I'm communicating now so that's not a very clever question to ask.

Charmicarmicat wrote:Do you suffer from social issues?

No, and if I did I fail to see what that would have to do with this discussion, as social issues are entirely unrelated to a metal genre discussion. Assuming I did have social issues, that's quite a low blow to bring someone's personal problems into a thread merely to insult them when you cannot defend your mistaken beliefs. People who do suffer from social issues aren't lesser people than you, and frankly, it's unrelated.

Charmicarmicat wrote:I can't be expected to debate with someone who can't word themselves probably.

Hmm... everyone else can debate with me just fine. It seems to be you that is the problem, and not the way I word myself.

Says the person bringing my forum signature into a discussion about black metal.

And I always thought black metal fans were such charming people.

Cool it.

Now.

Further attempts to bait Luveria will likely result in a formal warning for flamebaiting.

Some of the rest of you might want to take a deep breath and calm down too.

I like how innovative the genres can be, such as this Meloblack with Folk Influences. Enjoy.

That's the sort of stuff you can only get from newer metal, because the genre of "Melodic Black with Folk Influences" didn't exist until relatively recently.

It's not quite the same as "Melodic Folk/Black Metal", or "Folk Metal with Black Metal Influences". :p I look down on people who do not look forward.

The way I look at it, hybrid genres are the future of metal.

I find myself mostly listening to hybrid genres. They fuse the best parts of genres together into being a better one.

These days we have quite a few folk metal bands, but do not forget one of the originators of the genre: Skyclad. Skyclad's debut album was released in 1991, quite a few years before all those other bands.

At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

I listen to anything with good guitar work (read: guitar work I find pleasing). Though I am fond of hybrid genres.

I do go back to standard genres like Black or Gothic after a while, so my musical preferences shift around.

Everything from metalcore to black and death metal.

For example, I like bands such as Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch (metalcore and newer groove metal/hard rock [really depends on the song], respectively). Also, bands like Whitechapel, Drottnar, Braindrill, and Converge.

I listened to all sorts of range of metal, avant-garde, sludge, post-metal, whatever, mostly from the 2000's. Most of my music is from the 2000's, or the 90's. But probably 90% from the 2000's.

Now I have an urge to listen to Drottnar's We March. That's still really the only "Technical Black Metal" band I know of. I do wish there were more.

I much prefer my Folk to be Black. I don't dislike Folk, as it's still an enjoyable listen, but it just doesn't consistently do it for me like Black/Folk does and other Folk genres mixed with Black. For a while at first, I didn't think highly of Folk as a genre, but eventually I noticed how much I like it when it's Black.

I laugh at the elitists who dismiss American Black Metal. I've never understood how the quality of black metal is somehow related to the country it was made in, rather than the quality of the music itself.

You know how you forget just how damn good an album is when you don't listen for a while? Firmly back In love with this album

Combining my two loves of metal and vocaloid.

And 'dat production...so much more thickness and low end to the sound when compared to the producer's previous works.
