That big boy version of the Sherman is pretty popular because of its armour protection. I considered buying the T14, but I went for the Excelsior instead and never looked back. How can you go wrong with a tank named after Stan Lee's favorite exclamation?

The armour isn't stunning, and both the Excelsior and the T14 do have the same shit gun...

At least those guns fire fast. And maybe it's just me, but the Excelsior actually works for me.
Today is the first time I ever saw the term "Sitzkrieg", by the way. I think I will add that one to my vocabulary, it gives me something to scream in frustration during those matches that do not go so well.

It is quite a good word
And different tanks working for different people - I've seen people who love the M3 Lee.
I've not used the tank, but one of my clanmates used it for a while and did dislike it.

How do you simply like the M3 Lee?
You get over the hill, see a Hetzer, die without being able to fire a shot (or without penning).

Is the Gun Carrier really that bad?
I like it in Flames of War and was thinking of moving towards it as I go through the British tech-tree. Looking at it, it seems to have access to some serious firepower and on the few occasions I have encountered it, I have learned to fear it's firepower.

It's horrible. To kill a GC, all you have to do is outflank it, and kill. It has a long Aim Time, and by the time you have it locked, the enemy's away. Horrible top speed, and horrible armour. Horrible camo, horrible everything.

Well, most of that goes for all tank destroyers. Once outflanked, they're easy prey - most of them, anyway.
They're second-line tanks. Or the plug that you put in a choke-point. The second usage, however, does require good frontal armour. Lacking that... Well... Better stay away from the front-line then...

They're a huge bother to the team; they need protecting and spotting, and does not guarantee results.

Which also goes for most tank destroyers. They're vastly more effective if they have a few tanks attached to them, tasked with spotting and keeping bothersome enemies away.
A few destroyers, placed hull down in defensive positions, and screened by several tanks can be a real nasty "castle" to deal with. A destroyer caught alone in the open is in deep trouble.

With the possible exception of that overarmoured crawler known as the AT 2.
