Or just FECK EVERYTHING! and use this:
Soviet A-19 122 mm gun.
I was familiar with the post-war upgraded Shermans with 105mm cannons as used by the IDF and several South American countries. But that Sherman with a honest-to-God Soviet heavy tank gun comes as a bit of a shock to me. What's the story behind that intimidating modification?

This might be an interesting option for WG to use as a gift: a Mark A Whippet British medium tank in Soviet service, reequipped with a French Puteaux 37 mm gun in order to upgrade its firepower. Since regular Whippets were only equipped with machine guns, this version would actually make the most sense. Seems like it would make a somewhat decent tier II tank, even though it will be targeted by T18s with glee.

This one with a 10.5 cm gun as a premium would be sweet, if it was put in tier II/III (perhaps?)
EDIT: This one would be awesome :3

The M5A1 isn't all that bad. Having driven the US M5, I can really appreciate the more consistent damage done by the 47mm. It also feels more maneuverable at speed, although that isn't much of a praise, considering the M5 turned like an oil tanker.
