I've got other things I "need" to spend those credits on, anyways. Shiny upgrades that'll make my tanks fight better.

ELITE STATUS ACHIEVED. NO MORE UPGRADES NEEDED. SHUTTING DOWN.

But yeah, do that first. Fuck camo until your tank is elite status.

Most me tanks are elites, bar my M7 and Tiger P. But it's always nice to have things like the spall protection and gun rammer.

The M7 is completely mental when it's got the gun rammer and 6pr.

K-stan and I purposely bought the worst camo we could for our US tanks, the three tone "pre war" camo, or whatever it is, (Three tone camo, the last one you can select) looks like some Spaniard mistook your tank for part of the fiesta and decorated it.

Ick.

That camo scheme kind of looks like some of the British desert ones.

Been there, done that. Dropped the M5 like a hot potato.
That was before the Chaffee, though. I might give it a second chance.

Second.

I loved the M3 and I assumed that the M5 would be more of the same, so I flogged the M3 and got the M5. The result was I was getting chewed to pieces, so that went, too.

Now I've got the M7 and that thing is awesome.

My problem is more getting put into games where I can't actually do anything other than hide like a coward rather than any problems with the tank itself (got all the upgrades, just grinding for the M7).

Didn’t we have a debate on that some pages ago?

Anyway...

I prefer the 152 mm. howitzer with a HE-only load out. Not only is it the historically correct gun (not that this game cares about historical accuracy in the first place...) but it can also hurt most of the tanks that you’re going to meet.

I grinded the 107 mm. gun as well since I figured it would be useful on the KV-3. Well, it is but... In my opinion it lacks both penetration and damage when considering the opposition.

Low RoF of the 152mm makes it a lot weaker, in my opinion. You miss and that can often mean you won't get a follow-up shot.

Point taken, but look at it this way: the KV-2 doesn’t usually get a second shot anyway, so the first one has to count.

Besides, RoF doesn’t matter at all when you can’t penetrate...

True :P

I don't know, I'd personally be inclined to use the 107mm, although I don't use a KV myself (I don't have any Russian tanks). At times the things can be easy kills, but they've also hit me hard when I've thought they'd be an easy kill. And it's usually the 107mm that makes me regret thinking I'd have an easy time of it.

I agree...

The KV-2, like its younger cousin the T-28, is a bit of a glass-jaw fighter. Hard-hitting but rather fragile.

But, to me, the 152 mm. howitzer is a far more fearsome weapon. As I said, I consider the 107 mm. to lack penetration and damage. Most tier 7+ tanks can, if not entirely disregard, then at least endure, several shots from that weapon. The howitzer, on the other hand, can, and often will, land a very powerful punch that can take out multiple systems with one hit. In addition, while the 107 mm. gun might shave a fair bit of HP off a low-tier tank the 152 mm. howitzer will obliterate it entirely.

In fact, I’ve come to prefer the 122 mm. gun with a mostly HE load out, rather than the 107 mm. gun with a mostly AP load out, for my KV-3. I seem to be dealing better overall damage with that gun.

In the end, I think, it comes down to play style. I prefer hard-hitting guns, accepting a low RoF as a worthwhile trade-off in return for a first-rate alpha-damage strike.

Think I prefer that play style, I mean one of the best games I've had recently was in my Wolverine on Redshire getting four 'one-shot' kills in a row. 8)

So I shall get myself a nice French tank.

I know it's not that much, but I've been buying upgrades for my current tanks, as well as getting the M7. And there's only so many hours in a day you can play WoT when you've got a full-time job.

Aint that a fact!

I only have what I have saved up because I'm not really actively working on anything at the moment...or playing, for that matter.
