If you're popular enough to be featured with The Gorillaz, you sure as hell aren't underground.

Aesop Rock is a pretty big artist and incredibly respected name in the Hip-Hop community. Immortal Technique is the first artist people always go to aside from The Roots when asked to provide examples of good Hip-Hop.

These artists might seem underground if you're in high school.

I wouldn't call them mainstream, but they aren't underground. I've found plenty of their work at chain and retail stores like Best Buy, Border's, etc.

Implying you have to be popular to be featured with the Gorillaz.

Of course he is. I didn't say he wasn't. I think that in the hardcore hip-hop fan community, maybe he isn't underground, but then again, when talking to teenager, I really don't think that matters.

And that's because Immortal Technique is one of the best in the business. I have never seen an Immortal Technique or Aesop Rock album in any retail store. Ever. I'll keep naming underground artists if it pleases you though.

I've found Del, De La Soul, Immortal, Aesop, and many others in retail stores all over the place, I have no idea where you're looking. Hell, my local Best Buy used to have tons of Death Metal as well as good Hip-Hop before they had to cut down the music selection.

I could really care less how many "underground" artists you can name.

Electronic music and electric instruments are a fad on the way out. Catch the next wave, and buy a mandolin or a banjo so you can join the future. ;)

I don't like Kirk Hammett.
I dislike Cliff Burton's bass playing, outside of Anesthesia and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
I enjoy listening to the Ghost In The Shell's theme song.
I once listened to an entire country song, and didn't vomit.
I once listened to an entire rap song, and didn't vomit. I'm not sure which is more shameful.
I have never listened to dubstep for than a minute. As a curious guy, I probably should... but it is so painful.

Yea, that's all I'm ashamed about right now.

I've listened to a good deal of country, and that's not even the worst of it.

The shameful part is those are shitty artists, not that you have a cock.
we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.
