My local store is running a Tale of Many Warlords campaign, so I've just started a new Ork army. A Deathskulls Waaagh! led by Warboss Ugerekka, a Deff Dread. None of the Boyz realise that inside it is actually a Gretchin with a voice modulator. Also they're on a world so toxic that the Boyz keep dying of poison and those who survive turn slightly blue, so they decide they must be really lucky. The highlights of the army I've planned are melee-focused Battlewagon full of gretchin (who can fire their pistols while the Battlewagon is in melee) and a Squiggoth full of Lootas (who can fire at other targets while the Squiggoth is in melee thanks to the Squiggoth's special rule)

Used to be quite common in the Imperial Guard, those beastmen. Sadly the Imperial Inquisition objected, and now they're gone.

IIRC they pretty much vanished once the 2nd edt guard codec came out, although the journal did have rules for them as they did for a fair bit of the stuff that never made it out of rogue trader.

To what Chaos God would you fell, if such thing happened? 8)

Not sure if Slaanesh in my case, due to obsession with carnal pleasures or Tzeentch, due to scheming and lying...

Depends on the Chaos God, but it's usually either Tzeentch or Slaanesh. You need to be pretty psychotic to fall to Khorne, and falling to Nurgle is usually involuntary.

Yeah, Khorne does sound like your kind of deity.

Slightly un-Chaotic, even. If only there was a Chaos Inquisition!

Really it all depends on what you wish for to help you get through each day and if you have any pressing secrets that bother you.

The ways of chaos are far more subtle than often portrayed.

Say you experience a noticeable bit of pain every day: now do you wish for the strength to push through and conquer it? Vengeance on those who have caused the pain? The knowledge to cure it? That it would simply end? Or has it lead to a dulling of your enjoyment of life meaning you need really powerful positives to experience joy? Perhaps you secretly enjoy the pain now?

Reflecting on that kind if question nurgle and khorne are my most likely architechs of my downfall.

Too bad nature of Warp is so...ruinous.

Just imagine if they were instead Gods of Order, not Chaos, expressing the positive vibes (like Khorne's honor and bravery or Slaanesh's joy and freedom).
I know, WH40k would be extremely boring place then.

One of those caps is from Realm of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness. A sourcebook from WFRP 1E, from 1988.

There's a lot of talk about how "oh no Khorne's been flanderized muh chaos gods not all bad muh honor muh chivalry". The reality is that the relentless bloodthirst and disregard for anything but spilling blood in his name has been integral to Khorne's character in canon material from very early on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the whole honor and chivalry thing is just one aspect of khorne a shows that even the most noble mortal is vulnerable to the machinations of the ruinous powers and that diffetent groups can be worshiping different aspects of the same God in different ways.

Heck to the orks Khorne is (or was) the god of uniforms and discipline...

The old pre-Gorkamorka Orks were more into uniforms and discipline in general. Back then they had stronger Nazi Germany vibes, rather than the football hooligans they are now.
