In terms of fighting, Master Chief from Halo could be the shout. He is powerful and knowledgeable.

Henry'd have a good run with either of the two, but I'm willing to bet that Henry can more easily defeat Yoshi in a duel as opposed to Master Chief.

Technical question:
High Earth wrote:[...] according to the lore, Who do you think is the most powerful Video Game character of all time and why?
[...]

What does that mean? How do we compare that power?
I mean, for example, in Pokemon, Arceus is basically God. Now we release a wild Kratos on him. Kratos used Godslayer. It was super-effective. So, Kratos would be more powerful then a literal God.
But then, say, Link (Legend of Zelda) comes around and shoves the Master Sword up Kratos' rear end. Because Link is pretty handy with a sword and has a massive arsenal of tools to choose from.
But Link would be without chances in a fight against Arceus because Judgement is 100 Special Attack from a Pokemon with 120 Sp. Atk. Base Stats. And Link looks more like a Physical to me.
So, who would be more powerful? Link, Arceus or Kratos?

Plus, what do we do about characters, who's powers are not as combat-oriented or who don't have any powers at all? Examples:
We would all agree, that Kane from Command and Conquer is pretty powerful - an global organization of religious zealots at his free disposal, immortality, nuclear bombs and God knows what else, but in a straight-up fight? I could take him. I think (no offense to Joseph D. Kucan).
Tom Nook, Animal Crossing, owns a massive business empire and, according to one article, has a net-worth of 645 billion USD. Tony Stark clocks in at 12.4 billion USD. Nook is a raccoon. There are sprays against them.
I play PT, MT and a bit FT. I am into character-RPs.

Good question, we are simply going of of a one on one fight, with whatever equipment they can carry with them, and who would be able to beat the biggest number of others
(Also, Frisk and Chara would be able to defeat all 3 examples you used)

I have no idea who Frisk and Chara are, haven't played their games, so... why don't we have a shrugging emoji?
So, a straight up 1v1 it is... would creatures with more then one member of the species count, too?
For instance, to stick with Pokemon, Pikachu? Of course, in that particular case we could go with Red's Pikachu, which is in the 80s levelwise, but would any ol' Pikachu be a contestant?

Demi Fiend could make universes where he has full control, and since nowhere in the multiverse is out of bounds for him he can just enter our reality.

We are thanking the most powerful form of any one creature, for example, we are taking a level 100 Pikachu with a perfectly optimized move set, or taking the God of Hyperdeath form of Asriel Dreemmurr rather than his normal, nine year old kid form.

Trying to compare a turn-based game to a FPS game is quite difficult.

That is one of the reasons, I presume. But then again, going by lore also has its trappings: How many literal Gods are there in video games? How do we measure their power and compare it?

It's canon that Konata can beat any video game, so I think it's clear that she's the most powerful video game character. :ugeek:

I know. Also, I am going to be the one to inject the scp franchise into this. scp 682 is a massive lizard that has extremely fast regenerative properties and a hatred for all life. The scp foundation has tried and failed to destroy the lizard with all conventional weapons, including a nuclear warhead, and have even released other scps at him in an attempt to destroy him, including scps 096, 999 and 173. The one being that the lizard seems to fear is scp 173, or “the statue” why it fears 173 is unknown. Can any character here beat 682?

I feel like any answer here needs to be something from the Warhammer 40K setting purely because of, well, WH40K shenanigans.

And as there are 40k video games, they would be eligible. Sadly, my knowledge is rather limited, so...

What if she could not beat it no matter how many times she played the game. In the original games, it is impossible to beat 682.
