Pop growth empire-wide ceases almost entirely in the mid-game. Not allowed to colonize new planets, can't fill up the ones you have, ringworlds are entirely pointless, etc. The ONLY way to get ahead at that point is through conquest or raiding.

And suddenly I no longer have any desire to get this new update.

TIL the Commonwealth of Man in stellaris has its own unique event chain to look for a missing Ark ship.

Yeah it does. It gives some pretty nice early-game boosts in research iirc.

I do wanna reiterate that people say that they're enjoying themselves a lot with that mod. As salty and pissed as most people are, the game's probably not worth writing off entirely.

Id say so yeah, its not that expensive and it adds in some nice things for nose characters. Adventurer conquests in particular are a lot of fun.

I never noticed it until there was an event taking place inside the system, as usually I stick to the galaxy view.

I do, it was back when the game first came out, i was playing as an expansionist militaristic empire and got into a series of wars with a Keepers of Knowledge fallen empire. They started the first one because my only ally decided they wanted to research sentient AI and i was between them and the FE so of course 90% of the fighting happened in my territory and my home world got occupied like 6 times during the war, lots of people died and my fleets got obliterated. Needless to say i was kind of pissed at them though i managed to do a lot of damage to one of their fleets.

Fast forward a few decades and two wars later, my tech has went past theirs and i have landed armies on their precious ringworld. I then proceeded to murder everyone of them and take it for myself as payback.

Good stuff.

I was at war with an empire that had humiliated me in the last war. I orbitally bombarded there home world until I killed all there pops there.

It really does. In one very short lived game I had made a defensive pact with a nation to my far north as we had a mutual rival between us. But they bordered fanatic purifiers who attacked them and were winning. I had to send my fleet the long way around due to said rival and managed to turn the tide and drive them back despite no way to get reinforcements and drove them to 100 percent war exhaustion so they would accept status quoe, but my ally never sent the demand so I rave quit.

I was just involved in a war alongside my federation allies against a machine empire and after years and years of fighting we had overrun most of their systems (well.. i overrun most of their systems) and they were at 100% war exhaustion.

Did my allies end the war?

Nope! Kept it going till 100% exhaustion on our end too and this is whilst we were fighting another empire too so i had to keep forces back to watch what was left of their fleet to stop it from sniping systems we occupied. And it dragged on for fucking ever.

I keep forgetting to not have allies in this game. I need to stop doing it.

Is there anything fancy in that system guarded by a single Fallen Empire battlecruiser? I noticed it when i got some intel from an empire on the other end of the galaxy. And i know ive seen it before but i cant remember if there is anything unique in it.

Its just a single battlecruiser darting around the system and has a strength of 12k.

I don't have an pictures, and I've removed mods and the game changed versions so none now, but my previous champaign some exterminators on my border slaughtered half the galaxy and I just let them since that was the half that kept voting to try and remove me from the galactic community. I then made myself the sole permanent council member, killed the exterminators shockingly quickly, and laid claim to over 60% of the now much emptier galaxy.

I mean...the bug is kind of a good thing, if we interpret the bug creatively then we could say that it must have been one of my internal security operatives that got it, so it's better them getting it than a foreign spy I guess. Still a bit jarring though.
