Thought this would be interesting to share, in this months white dwarf magazine they confirm that the Exorcists space marine chapter are an Imperial Fists successor.

They are the chapter that like let demons possess their initiates then exorcise them out to become more efficient at fighting demons. I think the biggest theory about them was that they came from the Grey Knights.

Comparing the Exorcists to the Grey Knights is a grave insult to the former. I much prefer them being Imperial Fists, hence why there is some logic and rationality to their organisation, unlike the idiocy surrounding the Knights.

Let's be real here. All chapters are successors of the Ultramarines or Fists, even if they don't fit whatsoever

In fact, external source materials (the Deathwatch Role-Playing Game) give these estimations for successor chapter proportions:

Ultramarines: 50%
Blood Angels - 15%
Dark Angels - 15%
Imperial Fists - 5%
White Scars - 5%
Raven Guard - 4%
Iron Hands - 4%
Space Wolves - 1%
Salamanders - 1%

However, the context is a chart for determining the progenitor of a randomly generated chapter.

I got some contrast paints in the other day, and ive used a few of them so far on my Melusai.

Ahkelian Green over Leadbelcher looks soooo good and Fleshtearers red and Black Templar are also really good, i used them for one of the snake bodies to compare it to regular citadel paints and im quite happy with it.

Ill get a photo up of one of my Melusai for you lot to see if you want.

Thanks Ameri. I was originally going to do a very pale skin tone, like a really pale cream but decided instead on just a regular white skin tone.

Also Dark Angels don't have successors, they only have codenames.

Do the Space Wolves not have some Primaris Successor chapters now? I thought Wolfspear was meant to be one such chapter.

I jest, though: personally I think how the Unforgiven handle Primaris could have been done better; Lazarus crossing the Rubicon as a Hail Mary desperation move is one example.

The stories I hear are weirdly self-contradicting.

Like the rest of legions they didn't trust the primaris whatsoever and tried sabotaging the integration, then they became oddly trusting, and it turns out extremely manipulative towards them???
I feel Dark Angels have issues with the writers they're given.

It was probably written in a hurry. That has been a big problem for Games Workshop with most of their big releases - think Skarsnik being forgotten during the End Times, or that moment in Gathering Storm where the Ultramarines were captured by the Red Corsairs, somehow regained all of their equipment while breaking out of the brig, then escaped through the Webway, leaving their entire fleet (including the Macragge's Honour) in enemy hands, but then suddenly had it again with no explanation the next time it was needed.

Oh, and 12 was the best when the writing was at least decent, but sadly had some of the worst writing in the series (at least until all this Timeless Child nonsense provided a new low).

The book that dealt with the divide was kinda cool and kinda dumb. How the OG DA's saw them and handled them made sense, they just wrote the Primaris like idiots.

I rather liked him being smaller than regular Daemon Princes, but it was not how he was supposed to be. He was designed to be massive, and back when he first came out, he was. Now he is again.
