She is not an Astartes, she is in fact the only non-Astartes ever to be granted the title of Warsmith (in my canon). In terms of the model design, she is rather like a mechanical version of the modern popular culture depiction of Arachne.

I could use some help deciding on a colour scheme - currently my main ideas are red/grey halved, red/black halved, red/white halved, red/yellow halved or even red/yellow-black chevron halved.
In case you cannot tell, I have already painted one half red :)

Red/grey would fit the theme, but look a bit dull on a grey base.
Red/black is already in use by a canon Loyalist chapter, but lots of schemes are.
Red/white would be a right faff, I still struggle with white.
Red/yellow might look too like Howling Griffons, and since they are Iron Warriors it might not be thematic.
Red/chevrons would fit Iron Warriors, but might look a bit messy if I cannot make it work.

Edit: I ended up going with red/black, though I may add some chevrons to the legs.

Oculus made 2 vids on the Dark Angels and not long after Horus Heresy Legions releases an expansion entirely based on the Dark Angels.

Ordered some stuff to make a small diorama on a 5cmx5cm block for my brother as a christmas present. Its going to be this old 90s era guardsmen mini i found that is the last one from my brothers old guard army, so was gona do a little urban scene with him with some walls, sandbags and some extra bits lying around.

This is my first time trying to do something like this so its kind of exciting.

That sounds great! Dioramas are a lot of fun.

Painting the metal has been tricky, as most of my metallic paints seem to have congealed into uselessness

Combat Patrol: DeathWatch:

Nice to see some codex-specific dice that aren't eye-hurting, illegible nonsense like the Salamander, Iron Hand and Imperial Fist ones.

White on light Grey isn't that great a color combo though.

You should hide a scared-to-death Guardsman or something like that under the rubble.

There are two crushed-to-death ones in there if that counts :D
It is hard to see as I have not finished painting the base, but the head of one and the foot of another are just inside the doorway. The front of the bunker (back of the model) has a bent autocannon sticking out.

Sorry, they were in a bunker facing Iron Warriors. It was as classic a blunder as going in against a Sicilian when death is on the line.

Funny thing. I've gained an appreciation for the Dark Angels legion but I do not care for the Lion. This is opposite of the White Scars where I've grown to really like Jaghatai Khan but do not care for the White Scars themselves.

The White Scars themselves are pretty forgettable in their 40k incarnation; it's a shame we can't field their neat Mongolian-themed FW characters outside of HH games

Because 40k has forgotten that legions and to a varying extent chapters have a culture.

Started reading the Imperial Infantryman's handbook. Got a copy recently, after like 10 years since I've seen one.

It's funnier than I remembered. :p

If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

What I get from that picture is that the pictured Guardsman was such a yutz, he managed to get himself killed on some low-tech barbed wire.
