I just dont like doing it any more, i prefer to wait and see what stuff is like on release.

Last thing I pre-ordered was... Oh, geez, I think it was Sid Meyers Civ: Beyond Earth. You can see that I haven't pre-ordered since for good reason. This is just an exception because I'm planning a campaign with friends once the expansion comes out, and I wanted to get some practice with the new mechanics in beforehand.

Well I would of slept all day anyways, but now I don't feel like a bum this way.

You know it's not going to be out for almost precisely 24 hours from now, right? They're release times are consistently right around this time, in the middle of their stream time.

I'm technically SIQ (Sick in quarters) today so my sleeping schedule would of been the same regardless.

So, I'm currently watching a Stellaris let's play (of Utopia, to be exact) And it indeed looks really fun, especially with the species designer and discovering ancient things left by ancient spiecies.

So I wonder, what kind of species did everyone that owns Stellaris create?

Mine tend to vary from militaristic empires to science focused empires. Some democratic nations here and there and the odd spiritualist one.

A lot of them tend to be human (but a good amount of alien ones too), because i like making what if scenarios on humanity's future and to tie in with some HOI games ive had, for example i had a empire called the "Trotskyite Solar Union" which was a tie in to my trotsky world conquest in HOI4. So it was an militaristic democracy basically that vowed to destroy empires and autocracies etc to unite the galaxy under the red banner

Didnt complete it though, should do it again at some point.

Well, I generally play one of four styles using one of three nations-
The Swarm, a generic Devouring Swarm/Influence Hive Mind powered by industrious, adaptive butterflies that devour the galaxy at record pace.
The Great Conservatory, fanatically xenophilic egalitarians seeking to diplomatically collect and preserve one of each species in the Galaxy and enlighten primitives to join their empire.
The Uniar Collective, pacifist egalitarian xenophiles with beacon of liberty and an agrarian idyll focused on a balance between expansion and cannonballing traditions. Side note, these guys are always top dog when put in as an AI.

Almost exclusively Militarist and Spiritualist humans. Never pacifists.

I've created a bunch of different species, largely arthropoids, but not exclusively. I've used a number of ethics, but never authoritarian, and I only used xenophobe once. I have a couple spiritualists but mostly I play materialist. I only have one species with a fanatic ethos, materialism, and I prefer 3 ethics really. Most are democracies or oligarchies, but the campaign promises are annoying and not as helpful mandates so I'm shifting away from democracies now. There is a dictatorship and monarchy in there though.

Stability average is 50% and nations with higher stability than that gain bonuses to industry, political power and consumer goods. Once you drop below 50% there are penalties instead as well as lowering your surrender limit (although nothing as extreme as how NU affected things). Strong party support helps increase stability, but being in a war - no matter how well supported - is going to lower your stability. Stability also works to protect against coups against your nation as well.

So they're taking ques from Kaiserreich? Fucking awesome.
And check this out, so could we actually bomb an enemy into surrender now?

Dear Lord, please just hecking kill Henry VI already. He's been king for 30 years and if England has to suffer under him any longer Prince James is going to strangle him with a sock.

Amen.
