I just realized a hilarious pun from RWBY. The best part is that I'm 95% certain that it was entirely unintended. So, in the Volume 3 finale,

Unintended my fat ass. The name puns in that show are as subtle as a meat tenderizing hammer to the skull. They have a character literally named Glenda Goodwitch for fucks sake.

Ren is going to take her life for some yet unclear reason. (Mulan)

And I doubt it. Pyrrha was inspired by and named after Achilles. The term "Pyrrhic victory" was named after King Pyyrhus, an entirely unrelated individual. And they certainly didn't kill her off for the sake of a pun.

Lots of mythical and fairy tale characters die. In the original story, Little Red Riding Hood dies. That doesn't mean Ruby will, too. The characters are loosely inspired by other figures, emphasis on the loosely. They are not clones, and they certainly won't necessarily suffer the same fate.

And I would be very surprised if the rest of JNPR dies, too. Pyrrha's death made sense from both a plot and character perspective, but there would be nothing to gain from the rest of them dying. Maybe in the final chapter, Jaune has a hero's sacrifice, but that would be it. Also, I don't think Pyrrha is actually gone for good, but now I'm getting into fan theory territory.

It was also most definitely not intended from the start because in the original plan, team JNPR were unimportant side characters, explicitly "G List."
