I think 1 would probably be OK, though that'd be Reppy's decision, as she's running the contest. 2 can't be done, and I really don't think 3 is going to happen. Having your nation deleted is rather inconvenient, yes - that's the point of it. I don't think one of the mods who can edit signatures is going to go out of their way to help you with that.
