Nana boateng CTE

Postby East Macwick » Mon Aug 30, 2010 7:41 am

Can anyone tell me if Nana boateng was deleted? I saw this on Africa’s RMB:
“22 hours ago: The Rogue Nation of Nana Boateng ceased to exist.
22 hours ago: Nana boateng arrived from Iran.”

It seems strange that a nation went CTE just after if was active.

If Nana boateng was deleted can anyone tell me why?

Presumably deleted due to a rules infraction.
The above post may or may not be serious.

That nation belonged to a DoS player.

Thank you Kryozerkia. I assume that Nana Boateng had existed for more than 5 weeks when it came to Iran on 6th August as it had a population of 397 million then.

Retribution may not be swift but it comes in the end. :D

When a DoS is first given, there will be nations removed which are not small, so it is possible for a nation to have existed that long before such an order is given.

Sorry it seems that I don’t understand a DoS order. I thought someone did something wrong, they carried on and had their nations deleted, then they created new nations that still broke the rules and had them deleted and then a DoS is ordered so that when they create new nations they are Deleted on Sight. I didn’t think a DoS would be applied when someone was still active with old nations.

Thank you for the clarification.

Thank you for the clarification.

For the first or so deletes, only the offending nation is deleted. Puppet nations are left to continue to exist. The puppets would typically not get deleted until a player received a delete on sight order.

I'm glad this has helped your understanding.

What are the metrics for deciding a DOS?

Postby Nagasakii » Thu Sep 02, 2010 9:47 am

"The puppets would typically not get deleted until a player received a delete on sight order."

So what triggers the order to be given following the offending nation being deleted? Indeed, how bad does one have to act or behave in order to become a candidate to receive one? In over eight years in the game, I've noted DOS's applied to a wide gamut of apparent rationales and from minor to major infractions. Some actions that I thought would surely gain attention, didn't while others seemingly trivial were quashed. I would assume this decision is within the purview of the particular moderator, but is there a set of metrics or if/then statements that have to be proven or checked to qualify?

Thanks for your time and clarification.

Repeated rulebreaking over different nations has been a rationale for DOS.
Repeated obscene spammers have been a rationale for DOS.
Repeated suicide by mod abusive spammers have been a rationale for DOS.
Repeated advertising spammers have been a rationale for DOS.

Each case is unique, of course, but the usual element tying them together is repeated rulebreaking.
