I do not understand why Fahran, a moderator, needs to make a report in this subforum every time someone violates the forum rules.
Like, they're a mod, can't they perform their moderator action themselves?

If a Mod is active in a thread they can't handle issues there, but they can report things.

Moderators can't self-moderate, meaning taking mod action on things that involve themselves. This is true whether it's an NSG debate that they're having with you, or a threatening telegram sent to their nation.

"thing in the forum" is such a vague dependent clause that you could only make it more vague by substituting "place" for forum, or something along those lines. It's a policy on the site, if that's what you mean.

True, but the OSRS does say that if someone starts posting gore or porn or something that needs fast attention, a participating Mod can act.

No. Mods can still participate in RPs, same as everyone else. As a matter of fact, this particular mod is active in quite a few RPs himself, as certain players in the N&I board can attest to.

As other members of the Moderation Team have suggested, I routinely recuse myself from making decisions regarding threads in which I'm an active participant, as well as all other situations where I believe some appearance of bias or prejudice would be present. This is important in maintaining a fair and transparent approach to Moderation on-site. I have only ever made exceptions for acting against the spamming of explicit content since no issue of appearance of bias or prejudicial judgement exists in those cases.

I figured, given the request for clarification was directed towards my actions, I owed it to the community to respond, even if I believe my colleagues answered the question well enough without my input.
