If we’re being fully honest with ourselves, a petition is going to have little to no affect on what happens with the site. The same thirty people that Bormiar mentioned dictate what’s best; even if we dislike it.

...Not one which I know of. Doesn't change the fact that a nation with ten puppets could easily change the results of the average forum poll.

If I am correct, at the WA update, the votes update to show only valid votes from WA nations.

It's not necessarily a question of whether anyone actually does it, it just casts a legitimacy problem for the mods to exploit in not accepting the results. It needs to be irrefutable.

Yeah… well majority of M/A voted for this, and so you’re just pointing it at one person, which does not provide the whole of M/A, which means that in order for this to work, you should either remove all of M/A or just not let this pass. That is the s*ittiest thing you should do in a time like this, just blaming an entire corps of people’s decision on one person. If so then you can not just blame Sedge then, but on other times you can s*it on Godular, Calanworie, Crazy Girl, and more.

Obviously, we as players would not be able to do anything about this, so really the only solution would be to get moderators to do the survey since they know who people's alts are. This does seem unlikely for them to agree to though. Really there's no good way to do a survey because NationStates is not designed in a way to do surveys on a per-player basis. Maybe if you could find some sort of surveying service that would allow one response per IP.

But I agree that while the mods need to be more transparent, we don't know for sure if it was Sedigstan who made the call with the Wallenburg matter.

But I agree that while the mods need to be more transparent, we don't know for sure if it was Sedigstan who made the call with the Wallenburg matter.

Actually, we do know according to Reploid that it was a team decision, and Sedge as per his duties in his role made the announcement as per that decision.

What we don't know is the why, but as folks have pointed out it really is neither realistic nor fair to call to remove the guy for speaking on behalf of the M/A team and announcing their decision. Unless it was Sedge driven specifically, which we don't know, then we need to wait before calling for the guy's head regardless of the pattern of behavior going back "years and years."
