Sometimes when I post, maybe an hour or two later it's added as a comment in another post.

Why does this happen? Is there a rule that I didn't see? Or do I need to click a button?

It's a quote. It's a way for people to know who the poster is talking to.
For example, I am "Quoting" you, so when others look in this forum, they know that I am talking to you, and not someone else.
You should be able to quote someone by pressing the "Quote" button on the far top-right corner of whatever post you are looking to quote.

I should have specified, that's on me. What I mean is that my post gets added as a comment on a thread that I never visited. And my original post is gone.
