[Q] Question I had after leaving an RP.

Who needs it, who got it, who hands it out and why.

[Q] Question I had after leaving an RP.

Postby Polish Prussian Commonwealth » Sat May 28, 2022 9:05 pm

I recall that you can ask not to be mentioned in an RP after you leave -- however, I would also like my previous actions within an RP to be struck out and rendered null and void as well. OP, however, is trying to keep considering those actions as canon.

Now, I hold immense animosity and contempt for this particular OP in particular and would like to know if I can I request that my involvement in an RP in it's entirety be rendered non-canon -- as in, not just 'don't mention my name' but 'everything I ever did in this RP will be considered non-canon'.

Not a mod, probably worse at RP than you, but I get where they're coming from. To an extent, you should have the right of animosity, but at a certain point, it's nye-impossible to do that. WHo did that enemy army fight a crippling defeat against? No one, cause you were never there. Who assassinated that politician? A sentient sniper apparently because you weren't there. Doing that would create a paradox and eventually, the butterfly effect of that is a reason for significant decisions others made, so on, so on. For example, a reaction to that crippling defeat you never were a part of is they become a revanchist. They annex their neighbor, are defeated in a bloody coup and are in a civil war. Without knowing, it's difficult to predict how events would have happened, if you know what I mean.

Of course, in modern combat, that's what the French are for.

This is fair enough, but I'd still like to know if it's possible. FWIW my involvement was relatively minor and could have been conflated with any of the other actors still in that RP.

No, you can't demand that people change their story for you, and we're not going to police people's stories outside of the basic rules. As long as they don't continue to use your characters, etc. without permission or continue to mention you in a way that would be considered baity to you as a player, it's not up to us.
