[Q] No Rules RP

So I recall a thread called "No Rules RP" being up for a while, until it got lock due to the influx of reports coming from it. I would like to know, though: can another thread be created, based off of the No Rules RP, and if it can, what are the requirements to make it stay up until hitting 500 pages?

A thread with obvious potential to devolve into actionable rulebreaking would not be allowed by the Moderation Team, as I have pointed out in the rationales for our blanket bans on "Roast the AN" and hug threads.

But what if there would be a thread moderation team to make sure no rulebreaking happens? Would that eliminate, or at least somewhat prevent, the rulebreaking?

NS Site rules automatically apply to every post on the forums. Thus, there can be no true "No Rules RP." If you're just looking for something silly however, that is fine, as long as it follows the Site rules.

So could a Site Rules RP work? Where the only rules are site rules?

The intent of the "no rules RP" was to allow free F7-level RPing - i.e. loads of silly, funny, random happenings unrestricted by OP-imposed requirements. The problem is that people took it to mean "no rules at all apply, even site rules" and as a result there were repeated site rule violations.

If you want something like the original concept, then I would suggest thinking up a name that doesn't include the word "rules" in it, e.g. "freeform roleplay". That might be workable, but run it past us first, and we can see what the Mod team thinks.

What about "Anarchy RP"? And what if there would be a part in the OP where I'd state that posters have to follow only the OSRS?

That sounds like it might work. Let's see if Vis or Lamoni have a view on it first.

As a regular participant in an active RP with relatively limited ground rules, framed as a social media platform--which is why as NVI the Mod the most I can do is point out that because I am participating as NVI the Nation, my hands are tied unless adbots or pornspammers are involved, and for the love of [violet] please follow the Rules because breaking them ruins the experience for everyone--what I can say is that a free-form F7-level RP thread where the only rules one must keep in mind are These Rules and that reminder is made crystal clear could work. This is me pointing out my experience as an N&I RPer, however, so I am not going to presume that the F7 RP circuit has the same culture...nor will I presume that this is the end-all/be-all of the matter in question.

TL;DR: Agree with Sedge, I do.

So it's good to go? I or someone else can make the thread sooner or later?

Thank you! Made it right here.

One more question, though. Forum 7 doesn't allow thread ownership, but in the No Rules RP, many were begging for Aursi (the RP's starter) to enforce it (mainly due to trolls and godmodding, as well as other things). I predict that some nations won't read the warning I put and be a nuisance, so can thread ownership be allowed for the thread?

No, but nothing is stopping people from reporting site rule violations.
