[Q] Genocide ban related question

I’ve been writing an ORBAT for an upcoming war RP and have a question that has to be addressed to avoid possible rules violation.

Is writing characters (or military units, etc.) as inserts or references to real-life incidents regarding attacks on civilian targets during wars not allowed? To further clarify what I’m talking about, here are the incidents I’m referring to: Sinking of RMS Lusitania, Sinking of RMS Laconia, Sinking of Willhelm Gustloff. Now I know that according to the rules all glorification of IRL genocides is banned, however, I gave my doubts about wether or not glorification of IRL attacks on civilian targets that do not qualify as genocides are verboten too...

To give an example of what I’m talking about, consider characters in RP discussing the sinking of the ships who’s description and name extremely resemble above mentioned ones, and during this discussion brag about their supposed heroism, etc. If further example is needed I’ll be eager to provide it.

This is slightly pedantic of me, but those are three very different incidents. The Lusitania was a civilian ocean liner; one that may have been carrying munitions in its cargo hold, but a purely civilian vessel. The Laconia was an Allied troop transport that was - tragically - largely carrying Italian POWs when sunk by a German U-Boat. The Wilhelm Gustloff was a former hospital ship, but had been pressed into service as an armed military transport when sunk by the Soviets, though one carrying thousands of civilian evacuees; unfortunately, it no longer carried its former hospital markings. The three incidents are also from two different conflicts.


That aside, I see no reason why you couldn't address similar incidents in an RP. All three incidents were tragedies of war, not genocide. Though much, as ever, depends on context. In any case, there's no ban on describing civilian or POW loss of life during an RPd conflict.
