From context it is sarcastic and hints at insulting the user for being a hypocrites (or anti-universalist/whatever you call it)

It's sarcastic yes. Applying principle in all cases does seem to me excessive.

Children carrying guns on the street, for instance ... I'm not allowed to be sarcastic about that?
