So firstly, yes, I got a little heated. I shouldn't have done so, I should have just reported Liriena/Cultural Posadism and taken a break. However the manner in which this was handled was.... lacking. Sorely.

So, let's take a look at CP's posts leading up to my lapse of judgement shall we?

Ironically, the truth is more likely that this was the DNC's reichstag fire. The thing they're going to try and take advantage of to take power.

These posts are textbook flamebaiting. Constantly replying to me, or to those who've replied to me with nothing more than a personal attack.

Flamebaiting: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies. Flame baiting is a far more subtle and covert action; it is an underhanded tactic that is designed to provoke a response from another player. It's in the same context of trolling but with flamebaiting it's just the one person. Also included under flamebaiting is malicious quote editing, changing the contents of a quoted post without showing the original text, either through color changes or strike-out.

It sure is something to watch the Trumpists here devolve into either last-minute epiphanies or psychological abuse. What does it say about their cult that their go-to guiding principles when facing the consequences of their own actions are either cowardice or malice?

I would say calling every trump supporter in the thread at the time a coward or malicious would be cut and dry flaming yes?


Flame/Threats: Personal attacks against other players, expressed via OOC (out-of-character) comments; insults, swearing and anything posted with intent to offend. In-character remarks can be interpreted this way as well; watch what you post if other posters are unaware you're not serious. Erudite slams while maintaining a veneer of politeness can also be considered flaming. Repeated instances of flaming directed at the same player can be considered harassment, a more serious offense.

And for the one that really galls me and shows some level of incompetence or bad faith on the part of Neutraligon.... He literally quoted the following in the thread.

Your violent white supremacist cult tried to overturn a fair election because some septuagenarian rich asshole with a mushy baby brain told them to. I'm sorry, but you've already lost the optics battle.

And therefor couldn't possibly have missed this. Something that's far more 'blatant' flaming than simply calling someone a liar. Or is calling someone a 'violent white supremacist cultist' somehow not flaming?
