It's best to just stay on Forum 7, there isn't really any leftist bias in that section since most posts there are just games or what you think of other people's nations and stuff like that.

Ironically, Forum 7 is apparently a "safe space" for you.

Ironically indeed, but then again, don't we all have safe spaces?

Perhaps you could provide some examples?

Pretty much anything considered trolling is a good start. NS's definition is so esoteric and out of the norm I still don't fully understand what is and isn't trolling in General even after years and years of very active usage, due in no small part to it seemingly changing on the fly.

Trolling is when bad things, unless they are actually good, in which case it is merely orcing.

I mean technically F7 is more radical as it is filled with genocidal fascists, communists, religious zealots, tribal pagans, AI totalitarianists, and universe-swallowing Lovecraftian autocratists.

Of course it's a safe space for leftists. Everything is.

I was walking my dog in the park yesterday. We were alone, or so I thought. I told Fido "You know, I think Trump was pretty good".

Then I heard, in stentorian tones, "We have always been at war with Eurasia!".

чи залгасан уу?

Yeah, tbh there's a reason F7 tends to... I don't know if "feel superior" is the right phrase, but there's definitely a bit of an elitist attitude towards General, and a feeling that General just can't be civil to each other if their grandparents were being held at gunpoint and their politeness depended on whether or not said grandparents survived the next five minutes. The generally apolitical nature of the forum makes it a more welcoming place, I suppose.

They do say up-front they rule on a case-by-case basis, and I think it's intentionally kept vague so as to give them some leeway in that field.

Which is great for the mods but as a user that's fucking garbage, especially because the system lacks any transparency whatsoever. A vague ruleset is a meaningless ruleset.

Agreed absolutely. I think it's more a deterrent than anything; they want to be able to justify banning, say, an obnoxious ass of a user spouting shit that just stays this side of rule-breaking and if they published a more detailed or consistent set of rules they couldn't do that, as that user would be able to rules-lawyer their way out of punishment if they so chose to. But that causes its own problems- they say that, say, DOS imitators are a thing, but is that really worth having the community get pissed every time a notable user is DOS'd when they could solve it just by telling everyone what that user did? Transparency wouldn't hurt.

I dunno. It feels like they've tried to strike a compromise and just made everything a more entangled mess as a result.

Yeah, but you know what happens when they don't do the case by case thing and enforce the rules rigidly?
Everyone becomes a rules lawyer and everyone starts looking for "loopholes" to get away with things and then going "Nuh uh, cause the rules say!"

I sure as shit don't always agree with moderation, but I genuinely can't think of a forum that has a better way to go about things than this one does.

I'd even go so far as to suggest it was nilbogging. Terrible work OP.

No matter if they enforce it loosely or rigidly, people will be upset at the rules anyway.

It's almost as if people have a bugbear about this sort of thing.

Oh come on, these puns are just ghostly.

(And as someone who often lurks in Moderation I see no bias or "safespaces". I actually feel quite safe as a moderate center-rightish person. Then again I guess I do not have any need to thread the boundaries of the rules.)

The interpretation I operate off of is "being a cunt." Probably not entirely accurate, but "don't be a cunt" is generally good advice for any situation.
