Regardless I don't like Stalin. But the difference between the USSR and Nazi Germany for us Westerners is Stalin helped take down the old toothbrush nonce. In a strange way, history ended up having the democracies west of East Germany saved by the USSR's role in WW2. 85% of German casualties. Doesn't get more helpful than that.

The thing as well with Stalin is if I approach this from a radical leftist perspective of which I do not have, there is enough cause to label Stalinism as a perverse arm of Leninism, albiet with nationalism taking over with socialism in one country etc. By the time you boil down the economics of it, to an anarchist Stalinism somehow looks like National Bolshevism really.
