The trouble is that "taxation is theft" conservatism is precisely the kind of conservatism to which I do not subscribe.

My repeated use of the phrases "social conservative," "traditional conservative," and "the nature of the family and its place in society," should have made that clear.

While I don't want to gas anyone, and I wouldn't use that kind of language in a discussion with a "transgender" person, my views on religion and the LGBT movement would be decidedly backwards in your eyes.

So a lot depends on what you mean by "views that disparage entire groups of people."

My views include disapproval of fornication, adultery, and no-fault divorce. That's already an extremely large "group of people" who could interpret my remarks as "disparaging."

I'm sorry, but that sounds like a personal problem to me.

If people are actively going to try and harass people from the site because they feel that not agreeing with their lifestyle is inherently "disparaging" then that is a problem for them on a personal level because they lack resilience and are acting poorly. It also arguably should be a moderation problem, since if we want to have a forum for discussion then posters dedicating their time to trying to make everyone who disagrees with them leave are acting directly contrary to the stated goals of the community.

Well, that's the impression your post left me with, that you were dejected because you knew you couldn't be civil.

I can be civil. The question is whether or not that will matter to the mods, given the likely content of my posts on certain subjects.

If your values are shitty and toxic and dehumanizing, they should be wiped away, and nobody should feel compelled to speak in their defense.

From my perspective, it is the values of the sexual revolution and its daughter movements that are "toxic and dehumanizing." The question is whether or not the moderation team is willing to countenance such a perspective on their site, and you have given me no confidence that they are.

If I had to make a suggestion to the mods, it would be that they provide a place or a way for me to post my views where people would actually discuss them rather than merely dismissing them. For all its faults (and I'll happily admit there were many), the RWDT was such a place. Any kind of alternative will do, so long as it provides that same function.

The mods aren't here to give you a safe space or an echo chamber. If you want that, go to another site. If you want to put your ideas in a crucible, stick around.

People dismissing me as a bigot and accusing me of hatred will not help me refine my arguments, nor will it convince me that my interlocutors are intellectually and morally superior. Presumably, the purpose of putting my ideas through a crucible would be to achieve one of the two results, would it not?

The most likely response to my ideas, were I to post them in 99.9% of the relevant threads of NSG, would have more to do with a wildfire than a furnace: full of sound and fury, yet of insufficient intellectual heat to refine anything. What I am asking for is less a safe space, and more a space where serious discussion can take place. In order for that to happen, however, we need a place where my ideas will be taken seriously enough to merit a serious response. Hence my request.

1. Banter isn't. Bantz is for the most part though, yeah.
2. To basically have a RWDT meet up that's not as monitored by the Mods as the forums are. Don't know why they did that though considering they could just make their own forum or dedicated discord server and remove any actionability entirely.

It's not too difficult to adhere to rules. The question of whether or not she reports those with left-wing views is impertinent: it's up to her to report somebody or not. She's a user, just like the rest of us, and not a moderator. If you were complaining about a moderator taking sides based on ideology, that would have mattered - and to those who say they are, there hasn't been a shred of evidence to suggest such - but actually bringing up Grenartia reporting people, as an issue, is simply ludicrous. Yes, she reports people. Just like we all do.

Tit-for-tat reporting might be a problem, but I'm not certain if "well, left-wingers shouldn't go into right-wing regions and report them" is the solution. Just because you cannot have a safe-space on the forums doesn't mean you get to create one in a region, as those too fall under the purview of the site and its moderators.
