Maybe that this appears so unique should be a signal to the admins and mods that something isn't working?

Also if 80% of rule breaking is let slide, that should a) tell moderators people's willingness to let brief personal sleights go by and don't overly harm discussions in the long run b) how pervasive the "Don't report to moderation" attitude has spread across the forum. Which, in turn, should maybe cause some introspection.

Oh, I'm wary of them; this nation was deleted for thirty days back in 2015 because I jokingly told a friend on the RMB "bro I will cut you", an unrelated 3rd party reported it, and I was given no opportunity to defend myself before they'd ganked my account.

Honestly, I'm just tired of seeing Moderators hindered in their jobs by real life obligations that for some reason they cannot adjust for, that's one thing. If that's their excuse for a few hours of anarchy, that is entirely forgivable.

But to spur this animosity against the community by actively punishing them for not being snitch NARCs, to so carelessly fuel this pure hatred against such a large population of the community, and then to fan the fire by not treating such an unpopular and universally hated decision with the respect of not gloating by the end of it-

I had a long prior history at that point, I just didn't think I'd done anything wrong that time .

Let's make turning a blind eye a reportable offence. Then we can report people for not reporting people. Divine punishment for occupying the minute it takes out of Mods day to write a report (A minute thirty if you gotta pull up a gloat to really flex on your community that you have power and they don't).

Actual trolling is freely allowed (see certain users lasting for years and years on General whilst contributing nothing more than low effort snark and bait, which any sensible ruleset and mod team would axe quickly) but light jabs between people who are friendly with one another leads to warns and bans.

There's also the issue of moderation seemingly skewing very old and normally not having an understanding of internet culture which leads to all sorts of hilariously ignorant rulings.

I do think there is a tremendous lack of accountability from the Moderators to the site users: you can look at these examples and you can look at this thread (with some of the supposedly "bad faith" posts that were snipped being mostly reasonable) for proof. Submitting a GHR doesn't work because the moderation team answers those.

Hi! If there are players that you have concerns about, please consider reporting them for their behavior along with a few examples of their pattern of trolling so we have something to go off. It's best if you do so in a specific thread for them.
