There is a lot of talk these days on NS on offensive terms and whether or not they are really offensive. Weeaboo was ruled acceptable and Fascist may be freely tossed around now, despite the objections of some. Now it is time to talk about nigger. From what I saw in the weeaboo thread, a lot of people consider nigger to be really offensive but this really confuses me. I used to live in Detroit in an all black neighborhood and everyone called each other and even themselves niggers. Even in their own music, black people constantly say the word nigger like it is nothing. Just earlier today when I went to the store I saw a couple of black people address each other as nigger. I have even been called a nigger before even though I am Latino.
Nigger is obviously not really an offensive term to black people, at least not to most black people. So should it be permissible to refer to black people as niggers? I think the answer is clearly yes when you look at the fact that black people call each other and themselves niggers all the time. If you do consider nigger to be offensive then do you also consider terms like redneck, hillbilly and white trash offensive? If not, you are clearly a hypocrite.
