I am seeking a review of my IP address due to suspicion that I am a player who is delete-on-sight. The rest of this post is context for my request.
I joined NationStates in February 2019 at the suggestion of an RL classmate of mine. The classmate, who I consider a friend and have become quite close with, used to play NationStates but is now delete-on-sight. They're an unrivaled moron who outlived their welcome on NationStates, and my association with them has impinged on my enjoyment of the game.
Participation in off-site communities is vital in NationStates gameplay, and most regions check the IP address of new players seeking off-site citizenship. Early on in my NS career, it became a problem for me because my IP address closely resembles a DoS player's. Inconveniently, this player was considered a hazard in many regions, and joined countless forums. Regions quickly noted my connection to the player and sought explanations. As I provided answers, my association to this disgraced character was increasingly cemented. It's been widely suspected that I am them.
From then until today, I accepted this suspicion as a fact of my NS life, and tried to play it off by embracing the possibility as a joke. Even if I'm not the one who came up with the idea, joking about being a DoS player is stupid.
My intention with this request is to eliminate the possibility that I've merely "slipped under moderation's radar" by unambiguously bringing myself to your attention. Thank you.
