Aragonian Catalonia seems to be advocating death, and the added bit about Zionism being a mental disease strikes me deliberately incendiary and not especially useful to any sort of discussion on Zionism or Rafi Peretz's insensitive statements about assimilation and the Holocaust.

Beyond that, we've had a couple problems with thread-jacking. I think we're finally steering the conversation back to to the content raised in the original post, but it might still be a good idea to keep an eye on the situation. Discussions on white genocide, Latin America, and the culture of Sub-Saharan Africa seem to go a bit out of bounds. And, yes, I really should stop responding to those, even if it is to say that we need to get back on track.

It could be...if Germans had better weapons. I'm sure many ordinary Germans were interested in owning large houses...which could be achieved if all of East Europe was fully depopulated and distributed to Germans.

Genocide is organized mass murder. Unlike other forms of murder it is a lot more profitable because it is much harder to police a "criminal government" (think of it as an extreme form of organized crime) compared to a criminal person. WWII merely shows what future genocidaires need to overcome. Yes the bar is getting higher and higher but the opportunity to profit from completely obliterating norms always exists.

Hint: The solution to the persecution and assimilation of Jews was not to leave them in Europe where persecution continued even after the Holocaust. The solution to Serbian hegemony in Yugoslavia and the lack of representation for non-Serbs was not to double down on keeping Yugoslavia around. The solution to Greek grumblings about their subjugation under the Ottomans was not to tell them to suck it up and put up with Turkish cultural and political supremacy. The assumption that a state can be neutral on such issues is one the arises from the privilege of belonging to a cultural or ideological hegemony.

What you're doing is putting a bland, disinterested face on genocide, saying that one of the world's most despicable actions could be made more efficient and profitable.
