Regarding Discord Content

I didn't know if this would be better suited for here or moderation or under a help request, but I thought it best to just try here and then get directed to wherever I need to go.

My region, the Commonwealth of Free Nations, has a regional Discord. This Discord is where our chat is and such, and is directly linked under our WFE. On this Discord, there is some conflict regarding the handling of NSFW content. There have been instances in the past where we let it slide, but now there is major conflict regarding this due to how it pertains to NS moderation rules.

I have proposed making an age locked room on the Discord for the content, while some of the administrators are outright making it an actionable offense. The reasoning is that there is fear that if any NSFW content is posted, regardless of special room, we'll be subject to action by the NS moderation team for having it linked in our WFE.

So my question is quite clear in these regards on how exactly this should be handled in light of these things. Would it indeed be actionable for there to be any NSFW content in a discord linked in the WFE (even with a locked room), or is it permitted? And if it is permitted, are there any caveats for it? Again, sorry if this isn't the right place technically, but getting help request says not to ask general questions and moderation I believe is only for forum-side issues, so I thought I'd try here.

Ultimately, your Discord is your business, not ours. Plus, not all NSFW content is created equal. For instance, hardcore porn or erotic roleplaying and simply crass jokes are generally worlds apart; one can become a potential concern to the NS mod team, the other isn't. How your offsite venue handles such content is strictly your choice.

It becomes a moderation concern if said offsite venue's primary purpose seems to be porn or erotic roleplay, or contains other behaviors/content that may present a danger to our userbase, in which case then it becomes a case of "Do not link that site/service/whatever on Nationstates." For instance, following the May Massacre cybersexing bust a couple years ago, several users involved in that tried to promote an offsite forum whose primary purpose was as a venue for cybersex roleplaying. They tried to argue that all the adult content on said site was behind age verification for reals and that it totally was for roleplaying in general, however a quick glance at the site in question made it quite clear that the primary purpose, allegedly age-locked or not was for cybering; and they were told flat-out that they could not link to that site here.

I would certainly recommend hiding any NSFW content behind some sort of permissions mask so that it's not immediately visible to any random person who clicks the link to your server, but that's just a common sense precaution rather than an NS moderation matter. If your region's Discord happens to have some NSFW stuff (and to be quite honest, most NS related Discords I've seen have some sort of NSFW channel with special masking to access) that's unlikely to be any sort of issue with NS moderation. If the Discord is primarily NSFW stuff that presents a potential danger to our largely underage userbase, then it could end up barred.
