[Q] Reopening dead mod-sanctioned threads

Is there any restrictions on posting on mod-sanctioned megathreads/thread chains which have been dead for many months if there's valid reason for posting there, or should we simply want to revive the conversation? I ask specifically about the last LGBT thread, where the last post was in September of this year.
