Well if you're asking for background, he's a controversial figure.

He's what you might call a rancher. He takes money from and speaks at rallies for militant socialist unions as a former member himself. He identifies as Aboriginal and is very pro-Aboriginal rights. He's descended from Lebanese migrants and related to the poet Khalil Gibran. Also fiercely nationalistic, against gay marriage and wants a Trump style travel ban on Muslims. He's stood for the most conservative area in the country for almost thirty years but has often leaned in favour of centre-left governments citing their devlopmentalism. He has a photo of both Black Jack McEwen and Red Ted Theodore on the wall of his office.

Basically despite all this he's claimed by our hard right and a few posters on this site as a good old conservative boy, hence my amusement at him basically bringing down our centre right party (confusingly called the Liberals) and possibly handing power on a platter to Bill Shorten's Labor Party.

The post was an attempt to spark reaction from Conservative posters by claiming a man known for his strong conservative background and labelling him a communist.

As someone who has attended a number of his rallies he has never declared himself a communist and has more often than not stood in support of strong right leaning policies.


But if its just snark. I thank you moderator for your input and your judgement call. But at least there is not a thread frail for any future snark that may occur against conservative posters on here.

We could have discussed this on the thread, it would have been a conversation I'd be happy to have, as the sometimes complex differences and similarities between right and left populists are something that intrigues me. Unfortunately for whatever reason you've sought to taken a completely unactionable comment to moderation. And another opportunity to discuss Bob Katter has been sadly wasted.

Now I thought we Australians were supposed to be above dobbing? And that we were supposed to have thick skin? Snark is not actionable and it'd probably be for the best if you didn't bother the nice people here with nonsense like this again because of some personal grudge you seem to have against me. That's my final comment on this.
