Flags and swastikas

Postby Sudenmaa » Thu Apr 06, 2017 9:11 am

So, swastikas are forbidded in every way on flags or just if the nation is "totalitarian"? There are also many variations of swastika, are they all forbidden?

If you don't know the answer, don't post. Both of these posts are spam.

After seeing 50 million of these threads, my own patience is tested and I have to ask: How do you guys still have the patience to allow swastika threads to continue to plague your forum? If you're never going to overturn the rule, then why bother allowing the conversation to occur? Why not just lock it and move on, with or without the courtesy of linking the specific rule like M&R already has? This is talk for the sake of talk and last I checked, you guys make a point of reminding people that this isn't a debate forum.

Sorry ahead of time if I shouldn't be posting here at all, I'm extremely hesitant to post at all in this forum unless I'm actually reporting someone.

As you should be.

Because we have dozens or hundreds of new players daily who haven't had to put up with the constant wanna-be Nazis and memelords. We also have daily reports of spam despite telling people to not spam for the past 14 years, yet somehow the message never seems to get through.

I'm glad my total hands off policy is validated. I see people (try to) be helpful around here. Most of the time they seem to be tolerated, but a few times I note that they're not which makes things entirely confusing. Anyway, this is tangential. Back to to the topic:

And I of course understand the nature of the people who make issues out of things, rule-breaking or not, but I'm wondering about the rule in place itself. Maybe it would help deter the more reasonable people out there to put in a line mentioning that "This is not up for discussion" sort of thing? Inject a little oomph to the rule? Like I said already, it's just that these threads never lead to anywhere, so why not cut them short at the minimum or cut them off entirely at maximum. More decisive language and action against fruitless arguments and the like, is pretty much what I'm getting at. It seems it would make Moderation easier to deal with, from my perspective. I would actually totally accept and even appreciate it if I was told that my conversation won't have have merit. I know full well that I'm guilty of pursuing a line of conversation that'll probably end up with the same results of your average Discussion thread. :D

I can't think of anything more certain to garner additional pointless discussion than the above quote. Between the "you're not the boss of me" players and the "I'm 'Murican so I have Free Speech! You can't stop me!" crowd, we'd spend far more time handing out warnings and driving off newbies. It's easier to let them rant for a bit and point them towards old threads.

Once again, this proves the adage that "those who need advice are the least likely to take that advice". By the way, I've had this conversation before too.

Edit: Ninja'd by a padlock, but I'm still posting this response.

A fair point. It would just be changing the conversation to something different, but likely no less incessant. Well . . . I've got nothing else. This is why you lot are the mods and I'm not, you've already thought of these things. I really should have took that into more consideration. :p.

Also, pls no ban me for evading Farn's padlock.
