The rules will most likely never change that way in the near future. The best way to prevent this type of thing is to either pass-word lock your region, or have a strong WA presence in your region that has multiple endorsements placed upon your delegate.
It may be in your best interest to contact a defender group to see if they can help "liberate" your region.

As a UDL member and writer, I can sympathize with you. Please visit here as it is a lunching point/meeting region for UDL and other defender groups. You should be able to find the info you need there. Additionally, click my UDL tag in my sig if you want to visit the UDL website.

The rules allow for protection of any region, roleplaying or otherwise. We have Founders (yours has apparently died), passwords (you apparently didn't have one), and Non-executive Delegates (requires a living founder). The fact that you didn't take advantage of any of these protections or weren't aware of them isn't a good enough reason to retroactively change the rules.
It's a big game, with lots of different elements. In fact, this very topic has been raised and discussed widely on multiple occasions. I'm sure interested players can link you to some of the discussions.

Really, all you need to do is to put a more active regional member (yourself) in the delegacy so that you may remove the effect of what we call a "tag-raid". All "DEN" did was mess with your regional settings and they are all easily reversible. Once delegate, you use administrator controls to fix the WFE, change the flag, unsupress the RMB, close and reopen embassies, and correct the regional tags. I'll see if we can get some people in the region to help you out, although this may make you more of a target. I also can send you helpful links if you're having trouble restoring European Continent's native settings.

He's a defender. And the helpful link he described is here --- to recover your WFE. Unfortunately, you don't appear to have had a regional flag so I can't really help you there...

I didn't miss anything. I've been actively discussing options with interested parties for over two years. It's not a new topic, but the admins haven't been able to code a solution that provides adequate balance to the various elements in the game. There are several things in the works, but none of them did well enough in alpha testing to make it to the next stage.Sedulion wrote:people on here need to show more respect for the old Nationstate communities. You're right that I'm not showing a lot of sympathy. I don't think the 18 nations in your one region deserve special protection from the game that many of the other 146,841 nations in 18,842 regions play. There have been lots of discussions, and I haven't noticed you or anyone else in your region participating. Age doesn't automatically confer respect (or I'd deserve a hell of a lot more than I get). You have to earn it.

Venico wrote:To all the people saying "We want an opt out option! We want the option to not be raided!" Listen, I get it. and I'm with ya. Quite frankly so is Max and [violet]. They're so on your side in fact that they made it into a simple little box that you check mark. It's called Delegate Executive Controls. They did it, they made it for you guys. That's the answer to all of R/D and it's your opt out. If you recognize this and STILL choose to live in a minefield despite people telling you that it's not safe, that's your fault.
"I don't want to explode! We need the ability to not explode!"
"Well son if you'd get out of that darned minefield, you wouldn't have an issue."
"I DEMAND THE RIGHT TO NEVER EXPLODE ANYWHERE!"
It just doesn't work. Any ban on raiding infringes on a few things.
Example A) Milo Coup 2012. So Milograd couped TSP and had a bunch of his friends/followers from the RP sections of the forum come and pile for him in TSP. It's a political coup supported by foreigners. Is this bannable? Is this raiding?
Example B) OFO Establishment/Coup December 2013. Myself, Koth, and Cormac (abbreviated as CoKoVe) banned a few members of the community in Osiris that were deemed hostile, toxic, and a threat to our community. We then established a new government that reigns to this day that is held up by democracy. Is this bannable? Is this raiding?
Example C) I move into your region, and participate in it. But you're [insert reason for slight] and I develop a grudge against you. I decide that using the means of your legal system that I'm going to eventually work my way to the top then destroy your region. Tear it to the ground. Is this bannable? Is this raiding?
See where raiding/crashing/invading starts and ends is veeeery foggy and pretty much is all about intent which is extremely hard to figure out right at the beginning.
All in all, you ask for an opt out button, it's a simple click away. You already have it. Those are the reasons why banning raids simply isn't feasible from a mechanical standpoint.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’James 1:26-27, Matthew 7:21-23
