Sometimes mods lock threads, rather than move them, to convey a gentle message to a poster.
I'm not the mod who locked it, but I'm guessing the messages would have been something like this:
1. The NationStates forum is for roleplay. This is not roleplay. Try Factbooks.
2. You've been here six weeks, you should be getting some idea about the place by now. Please, read the forum stickies. Or even just the forum descriptions.
3. If you want to know how to pronounce a fairly ordinary word, don't start a thread, click on a dictionary.
And now I'm going to lock this thread, and I'm gently conveying a message, too.
Ideological Bulwark #35
