Removal of Condemn The Holocaust

Postby Oh my Days » Sun Jan 03, 2010 2:57 pm

Hi,

My proposal "Condemn The Holocaust" was deleted from the queue, please could you tell me why? I suspected that it might be because of reference to RL events, which was why I included a definition of the Holocaust as "an act of mass destruction and loss of life (especially in war or by fire); "a nuclear holocaust"." My other thought is that it might be because of Kenny's complaint that I copied his resolution, but I didn't base it on his resolution and I was asking the WA to perform a completely different action. Do I have any chance of redrafting in a legal manner?

Thanks,

I lodged a complaint against it because it had nothing to do with either a nation or a region, which is what C&Cs are made for. I'm assuming the mods agreed.

Of course you did, I assume just leaving it go was too hard for you.

Laos, I would strongly advise not flaming or saying anything remotely close to a flame in moderation, it can get you in very hot water very quickly.

Considering that Kenny was around during the "Max Barry Day" incident, I can understand why he's leery about leaving a proposal of questionable legality in the proposal list, especially one that's liable to gain support easily.

The proposal may have named a region, but the reasons given were vague and failed to actually condemn the actions of the region.

Agirinia, *** warned for spamming Moderation. *** Unlike Oh my Days, you were not directly involved in this thread. Further, your comment had no reference to the topic, ie, the legality of the proposal.

Oh my Days, you couldn't rewrite that proposal to make it legal. You would have to RP the region The Holocaust being involved in NationStates in acts worthy of condemnation by an international body and then condemn them. As Kryo rightly ruled, the condemnation, as it stood, was too unrelated to the region as a region. You would basically have been condemning the region for its name.
