I assumed posts without explanations would be taken as reports of length violation.

Do lines within the spoilers count in my total line count?
If so, I am still over 8, if not I am not....

Lines hidden by spoilers don't count towards the 8 visible lines.

The spoiler block itself counts as 1.5 to 2 lines, though; as do box and quote outlines, blank lines, and table lines. Note that using Align tags can add a forced blank line if you're not paying attention. It's also worth pointing out that while sigs of up to 800 characters are permitted, you shouldn't TRY to fill it up. Forum Sigs are supposed to be informative and helpful, not a complete biography. Instead of trying to fit your whole factbook in 800 characters, why not create an ACTUAL factbook and link to it from your sig.

I'm never sure when it comes to spoilers. I've heard it said (by a mod) that they count as 1.5 or 2 lines, in which case this is over the limit.
