Trolling

Postby Sailsia » Thu May 03, 2012 6:24 pm

In this thread viewtopic.php?f=20&t=177891 this player http://www.nationstates.net/nation=milennias has been trolling. Most notably, he links to a website which is a satire of what he has been arguing all along

viewtopic.php?p=9197432#p9197432

a look at any of his recent posts in the thread will show he has been trolling all along

Linking to page full of grisly images? Possible problem. Will discuss with other mods.

Disagreeing with your opinion on abortion? Not a problem. Not trolling either.

Out of curiosity, how is it not trolling? After providing post after post of "pro life" arguments, he then goes and links to a pro choice thread which is a satire of prolife websites. Isn't that trolling?

Having looked over the player's post history, I don't believe he recognized it as satire.

Alright, fair enough. Thanks for clearing that up.

I have one question about this ruling. Can a mod be warned, and if so, do they keep their moderator position?

Sure we can. And yes, if we step out of line far enough, we can be removed - we're only moderators and given our access by the grace of our great Tetragrammaton Lord Himself, Max, and he can take 'em away cat-quick.

Is there a point to your question, or was it just idle curiousity? If there is something you feel needs to be addressed, you're always free to link to the example, or file a GHR on it. Thanks.

A moderator can be subject to investigation if their conduct is questionable, and yes, they may be subject to discipline. As for whether or not the position is retained depends on various factors. If you've got concerns about a particular Moderator's actions, you're welcome to submit a Getting Help Request and an uninvolved team of moderators will review the incident and may escalate it if necessary. When submitting a report, please remember to save any relevant telegrams if applicable and to provide a link to any post which contains the questionable conduct. We can't act on baseless conjecture. The same applies to any player being reported. Mere allegations of rule violations are never enough.

I believe it had to do with the unofficial warning Katganistan received as part of this group of warnings. Her "Mea Culpa" is posted in the relevant thread.

That is correct, Frisbeeteria.
