Arch, I see your point; but it was in a debate forum before it was moved. So it's pretty much an unfair lock because of that kind of logic.

You have got to be kidding here. It was undoubtedly moved because it was in the wrong forum to begin with. The questions have been answered, and then some. Why on earth would it need to remain open, other than to continue to give a platform to certain player's crusade to try and hang the mods? The whole thing really is getting beyond stupid at this point.

Let's look this over, shall we? You create a thread about everyone's opinion about a question you asked, for which you received an answer (and an appropriate one, at that). You then make a thread complaining about the response you received, and put it in the wrong forum (General). Criticism of the Moderation team isn't a problem (as long as we all stay constructive and appropriate), but you antagonize the moderators, as if we have some sort of alert chip installed into our brains that tell us when a thread about us is created, (and Kryo in particular) for not posting a response yet, especially when the thread was in the wrong forum in the first place.

Here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14808&start=25#p532847
Here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14808&start=50#p532958 (aimed at Kryo)
Here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=14808&start=50#p532994

If you're going to make a post asking a question for Moderation, wouldn't it be logical to at least toss it into the Moderation forum?

And then suddenly you produced evidence from previous threads that the moderators are indeed closed minded. Well let's see... What's this thread? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=286&start=0 It seems to be a Technical FAQ thread, let's take a look.

Mods, can you change my nation name for me?
First off, this is a Mod Forum question, for all that I see it in Tech, secondly, no, they can not. They used to be, but it caused all kinds of problems so that [violet] disabled it.

Oh snap, there's an answer to your question/proposal. Your logic makes absolutely no sense, especially because it involved a technical question and was therefore moved to Technical. Ardchoille also confirmed the post within your thread (by Dai), and so your question was answered and your thread was locked.

And thus I've proven that Ardchoille in indeed not the worst mod!

So what's still to debate? As the Dread Lady has said, it was in the wrong forum to begin with. Once it arrived in the right forum, it's treated as if it belonged there.

You made a suggestion about nations being able to change their names; Daistallia pointed you to the place where it's been discussed, and the technical problems stated (which, to my untechnical eyes, pretty much rule it out).

As far as I can tell, Unibot's nevertheless tagged it to his Super Extensive Very Long and Infinitely Detailed List of Things That People Would Like to Happen, and, I would guess, also grabbed Ryadn's suggestion on how some of it might work, if it were technically possible.

And I am replying to you politely, despite the promptings of my inner Lord Vetinari, Patrician of Ankh-Morpork, who urges me to treat you with the same careless disdain with which you treated the mods in your OP to the original thread.

Should this continued discussion prove insufficient for your purposes, submit a Getting Help request.

EDIT: Posted before I saw Euro's answer. Thanks for taking the time to chase up those links, Euro.

Buc, Ardchoille made perhaps the most epic post in the history of Nationstates moderation that basically explained exactly why the topic was locked. Let it go. :palm:

More evidence to support my argument appears in this thread.

More evidence that no matter what you're told, shown, or have patiently explained to you, you won't be changing your decidedly skewed opinion appears above.

And even more evidence of something-or-other appears here, where I lock the thing. ModNazis FTW!
